This thread will start as a poem. The theme is 'Winter's correalation with our ambigious feelings of hope and uncertainty' please add two lines within this framework. Don't hesitate to contribute here. This is just an experiment. If you don't want to add a verse, suggest an idea or thought, and I'll try to incorporate it. I want this to be a group effort. Begin:Upon this trodden weary road, Shimmering now with fresh fallen snow, Sunrise gleams on this crust pristeen, my intrepid tracks seem quite obscene.

Floating softly, the crystals gather, they make me wonder, what do I matter? Though cold gray skies loom so bleak, they yield way to each snowflake unique.

Does no one else have the nerve to risk being creative?

The bitter wind attacks my face I cast my head down, fasten my pace And though I'm filled with warmth inside From the cold of morning I cannot hide

Sorry, I know that was terrible No, Sto', that was quite excellent! It fits very well in theme and tempo. I know there is always what I call the "cringe factor" in letting people see unguarded communication. Think of how hard it is for Kate and others to have us pour over their heartfelt feelings ad nauseum. I hope more of you will participate. Like I said, ideas are welcome. Or if you'd like, I will edit or re-phrase at your request.

I know what you mean, Al'! It's hard to express yourselves in front of people. I got back from a week-long Creative Writing course on Saturday and at first everyone was really embarrassed about reading out their week, but as we progressed it got to much easier. Saying that, my poetry is usually much more cringeworthy than my prose!

... my poetry is usually much more cringeworthy than my prose! That's as it should be. Art should push our limits and make us think. If it were easy, everyone could do it. It takes courage and sensitivety to contribute ideas that resonate and yet stand out.

In braving elemental charge, my heart so heavy, so large, I walk a path ne'er trodden yet, and find the place, we met.

Madscientist? More like Heart Architect! Unless you are a "P" taker. I prefer the positive view. Well done MM!

Well done Neo. Sheila and Zan.....anybody else? I'm just selfishly enjoying your poetry I really can't hope to compare , I love poetry, but I don't think I'm really any good at writing it. My forte is closer to critical analysis or thesis writing, I think. I'll try to jump in, if I feel particularly inspired (and brave)... I really will. But the rest of you are doing splendidly without me so far.

I do look foward to your contribution Zan. And I just knew August and Susanne would have posted here by now. Everyone needs to be a part of it. After all have participated, I'll condense it to a complete poem. From there we'll try a play or a short story. Which do you guys prefer?
