I must say, we really have some creative talent on this board! I'm so glad to be here. I hope I don't annoy people too much with some of the things I've posted. One day I'm sure it will all make sense. It really is a fun place to be for the kind of people we are!!

I think we are going to end up with lots of different storylines: one for each character! Should be interesting!

I think we are going to end up with lots of different storylines: one for each character! Should be interesting! Agreed! I'll try to be patient, but if members lag behind posting their characters dialogue, then I'll start to write for them. I'll edit later if they wish, So stay tuned and keep up. Meanwhile I'm going to delete the extraneos posts of mine on the story board. Lori will you delete MM errant post on the CCW Another Lifetime? Thanks!

Just a thought NEO, since we're discussing storyline here. BTW I like your post. But, what do you think about Kohl being in on this from the beginning and the whole subway project being just a guise for the endeavor. I was hoping that Calahan and McIntosh don't find out all the details until near the end. There should be a 3 way battle between Calahans - the Kohl / Box faction - and government officials. I'll honor your direction. So you can edit, or comment on the direction you'd prefer to go. I'll wait before posting my next passage.

Al, I agree with your ideas about Kohl and keeping the details from Calahan and Mcintosh until near the end.
I'm now set up in my own flat (apartment), so I should be able to make a greater contribution. You have to bear in mind I'm still writing my book.
Will be adding more tomorrow.

Hey NEO, I waited 'til midnight your time, you must have gotten busy. Anyway, I justed edited your last post to include what we had talked about. I saved all of your words that were pertinent to the direction we're going. Please post changes here that you want to make, or re-edit the post there. What do you think?

Progress report: Chapter one is complete! Verdict anyone?
Now on to the revelations. A bit of suspense is brewing in that Kohl is relying on excavating the proto-type time travel pod from the final excavation at the portal site. This vessel will reveal the remaining technology to go foward. The paradox is that the vehicle was imbeded in the rock from a future trip that had gone awry.
They discover that time travel can only go foward, then back to the time of the launch. Travel back in time will never be possible; only a return to the present time of the departure. Each trip must return to the exact time of each launch. It will appear as though the pod spins at tremendous speed and then decelerates. The only evidence will be what returns with the 2 travellers.
Later it will be revealed that all of the advances made in the 20th Century were due to this discovery. Big business and crooked government exploit the system. But there will be hope. The story (you guys weigh in on this) will jump from the present to periods of great discovery along the way. The salvation must come at a time that is in the period after now.
The characters from 1897 and the subsequent years afterward, must grapple with the changes brought about from discoveries made about the future. Profiteering is put before altruism. Fear of losing the golden goose keeps the battle of good and evil going.
Some seeds must be planted by the good characters in 1897 to save humankind from oppression and global revolution in 2010. Descendants of the main characters will struggle throughout time. For example Calahan's property will have to be a protected site around the clock for generations. Confusing, crazy or do-able?

It sounds doable, I guess I'm afraid to even get my feet wet, let alone jump in. I mean, crikey, I'm even kinda lost with my own character. I'm trying to force myself to jump into this story but the ideas just aren't coming. I've always been a little shy of sci-fi.
