It sounds doable, I guess I'm afraid to even get my feet wet, let alone jump in. I mean, crikey, I'm even kinda lost with my own character. I'm trying to force myself to jump into this story but the ideas just aren't coming. I've always been a little shy of sci-fi. Don't worry about the Sci-fi. Most of the technical stuff is out of the way, Now we need real character development. The travellers could be likened to visiting another country and bringing back trends or customs from a different culture. Granted, change would be faster, but very few people know about it. You guys must decide how your character will fit in. Some things are clear, some need maturation. But don't hold back. Love, sex, romance, mystery...it's all wide open at this point.

It would be a good idea to make Calahan and his group think the portal is a passage way for smuggling items from Boston Harbor. Officials could supply them with drugs and steroids for their meager rewards. I'd also like my character to eventually find out and cause conflict.
Gold coins are worth a fortune in the future, as they would be in mint condition. The money and technology grows exponentially with each successive trip. The cycles of the moon and inadequate resources and facilities make progress measured. OK?

You can work those details in. But, I think Calahan must be told early on. It would cause a riff between him and McIntosh, which could be interesting. Plus the property must always be secured for successive trips. They must start out planning short trips to assure a safe re-entry. If the site is not secure in the future the travellers would not survive.

We can wait. I feel bad for advancing the story on your behalf. But feel free to edit your characters words. Maybe a break will help everyone else get something lined up to add.
Starting Sat. tho' everyone must keep up or lose your place in line. More reason to read here everyday. ;D

You're doing a great job Altruest. Seeing what you have done with story so far I think you'd make an excellent editor. Fancy being mine? I have actually got a meeting in two weeks time with one of the famous characters in the story to court permission to use their part of this tale. One by one it is an exercise I will need to repeat until everyone allows me to mention them in the text. Do you think Madonna will play? By the way, this is not just a dream; its really happening to me!

If you're serious, I'd help with some final thoughts. You know that your book borders on giving me the willies tho'.

If you're serious, I'd help with some final thoughts. You know that your book borders on giving me the willies tho'. My story has given me "the willies" for nigh on fifteen years Al. When it finally comes out it will intrigue a lot of people including Kate. If it achieves what I expect it to, then expect the whole planet to not only have "the willies" but, in plain course English be "Shit scared." You'll see why as it all unfolds. (The greatest minds are brave enough to reach out and be burned, that I am quite expecting, Sven reminded me of that on this very board.)

And why would anybody believe what you are saying? Some minds are 'toasted' NEO, if Dr Bush was uncomfortable with your obsession, and Kate has never responded, then isn't that a sign? The other dimension you speak of (pardon my bluntness) is called fantasy. No offense meant.

Alright. We're going to complete 2 chapters this weekend. Zan, Sheila, Sto, RT, NEO, I expect a one paragraph minimum from you guys. Susanne, Paul, Lori August and Adey (reverse alphabetical order ) at least one sentence! - more is better tho'. Please don't hold back on the story or the poetry. One of these forms is bound to be easy for you. Besides, we're all creative people here.

The right hand side however is working overtime to connect and prove all experience is real, fantasy or otherwise.

Hey NEO, thanks for posting on the story. It's really good. One note tho' - You missed your meeting. Let us know how your character handled the liason in Calahan's office. (an edit of your post ? ) Thanks. I'll (or someone else) will run with it from there for a couple of paragraphs. But jump in whenever you'd like.
