Stop by the 'Moments of Pleasure' board (week XV) too. I'm asking everyone to contribute a suggestion.

Do you think Kate's influence is fading?
Or like me do you think her best is yet to come?

After reading Big Boi's comment regarding Kate's influence on his music, I bought the new Outkast CD (Speakerboxx/Love Below) Some interesting stuff. If he (BB) did convince Kate to work with him, I've got a suggested project...... a combination of "I Like the Way You Move" with Kate's "Moving"... ...I always like my ideas ;D

How do some of you think the recent death of Michael Kamen will influence Kate Bush, and the release of her new album?

She might dedicate the new CD to his memory? She will mention her appreciation of his help in the credits? She will take part in an all-star tribute sometime in the future? Either way she is certain to honor his memory in some way.

August, or any one else, do you think this will delay the release of the album?

Certainly. I would bet money on it. But we'll never know, will we? Considering what an integral part of her career he has been, working on some of her most emotional and personal songs, she is probably in a terrible state over his sudden death. Personally, I hope this doesn't cause her to shelve the entire project due to the emotional drain. Anything could delay a release at this point. Perhaps I am too cynical, but it has been 10 years... why release anything now? On the other hand, their songs have been incredibly poignant. What a fitting tribute to release the album and dedicate a song in a live performance to him? We can only hope...

Zan, I hope your last thought is right. It would be a fitting tribute to release the album in his memory, after a tasteful pause. I believe his family would be honored. With that in mind, I would think that she would be compelled to release it. After all, it is his music as well.

How has the music of Kate Bush affected your listening habits and your view of the human condition? I listen to Kate everyday. She is by far my favorite artist. However; she has opened my horizons to more esoteric and varied music and art. (e.g. Loreena McKennitt, Dead Can Dance, Bet Williams, Cirque de Soliel) Her unique perspective has advanced my philosophical pursuit of beauty and understanding...... Lori, this is the tread where I mention Cirque Du Soliel. Many of Kate's songs with a french flair remind me of the theatrical qualities of Cirque Du Soleil.
