MT, You were there and you didn't even listen?? Just entering the site alone has 'The Mummer's Dance' playing. Anyway, some of you please visit Loreena's site. If nothing else this board should enlighten us to how Kate Bush has influenced our lives. This is one way.

Altruest, I`ve got to say how blown away I am! I didn`t hear "The Mummers Dance" the first time around because I didn`t realize I had the sound turned down! Now I have I am amazed! It really is true, soul birds of a feather flock together. You and I are much closer than we realize. I simply love what I have heard and I now want to purchase her albums. Do you think they will be available here in the UK?

MT, I am really pleased that you liked the Quinlan Road site. The great thing about it is that you can order all of her CD's and videos online. The name of the website is her own record label. I have all of her work To start I would go with "The Visit", "The Mask and the Mirror" and the "Live Concert from Paris" (2 CD set) Thanks for the comments.

I remember Michelle Kwan once did a skating routine to Dante's Prayer. It was beautiful.

August, I'm going to give a brief list of some of my favorites besides those we've mentioned, for anyone else who cares to visit the Loreena McKennitt site. "The Old Ways" "Santiago" "Prospero's Speech" "Dark Night of the Soul" "Annachie Gordon" (to name only a few suggestions) Maybe you'll agree or add a few as well.

OH Yeah, me too. Also a great story and video.! I'll remind everyone again that although Ms McKennitt writes and arranges much of her work; many of the original words are from Shakespeare, Yeats, Tennyson, St John of the Cross etc. Pretty impressive lyrics! Check it out. In fact make your comments on the "Moments of Pleasure" board were a bonus list of five Ms Mckennitt tracks will be featured.

Al, I`ve just bought "Parallel Dreams" and I`ve got to say it is a sound I`ve been searching for for a long time. Thankyou very much for introducing me to her work, it is fabulous! I`m looking forward to buying more of her albums in the not too distant future! My immediate favourites are: 3) Huron `Beltane` Fire Dance 8) Ancient Pines

Why does that not suprise me ;D Anyway MT, you will enjoy it. Don't forget to post your comments on this week's 'Moments of Pleasure' board that shares the title of this album. You might consider her 'Live' Album next, as it has her best numbers included. It also has great orchestration and dynamic qualities. Until the new Kate Bush release; Loreena McKennitt can provide almost the same vibe to me.

Charlotte's Web...I love that!
And yes, she is very much in the same genre as Tori...great comparison. They do have distinct differences though, so don't be fooled! Ms. Charlotte Martin is a powerhouse singer/songwriter/pianist. I really hope you all get a chance to see her live at some point - truly a memorable experince.
I am just amazed at how many terrific artists there are in the world. It overwhelms me sometimes!! -TT

Thanks for the response TT. I plan to make room for more exposure to Ms Martin. I'll let you know. Maybe you'll listen to some Loreena McKennitt and let me know. I was thinking of starting a thread on the new board ("Other Topics") for discussing other artists. Maybe even a poll for the top ten artists other than Kate who have either been influenced by or complement and contrast Ms Bush. Five favorable responses = I do it.
