This may not be the worst song ever, but as I was waiting in Kroger's parking lot last night - this was blaring on the P.A. - ''Weee may never pass this way again...Weeee may never pass this way again etc." I believe it is Seals and Croft, but it is soo annoying.

It's funny what is one persons pet hate can be anothers favourite. I quite liked that version Cathy, but I'll admit after a while it became monotonous. I don't know the one Al is speaking of, but I'll try to avoid it whenever possible. My pet hate "Lady in Red" by Chris de Burgh. That particular song brings me out in a rash, makes my head spin around and fire comes out my nostrils. It's not a pretty sight I have lots, lots more...........

Cathy, I agree, I really don't understand what the fuss was all about with the "Mad World" cover!
I think my worst song ever is a song by a one-hit-wonder band called Vanilla with a song called "No Way, No Way". The chorus went something like, "No way no way, manamana/ Not today/ Don't get fresh with me".
If you haven't heard it, count your blessings.

I enjoyed the cover of Mad World, very intense and it really switched the emphasis right back onto the words..
I SO agree, Lady in Red is a turkey beyond compare..
My votes would go to Max Bygraves for " You Need Hands " - utter dreck, and for something a little more contemporary, " Kung Fu Fighting " by Carl Douglas - a tragic time piece that perfectly illustrates why a craze should never be celebrated in song.

I'll have to agree here. Yuk. In the same vein. ''Convey'' (don't recall the performer - Mc Call??) capitalzed on the C.B. radio craze. ' Horrible Another stinker is ""Lady Godiva'' by Peter and Gordon'' Even good talent can put out some trash.

.... 'Barbie Girl' by Aqua Yeah. It reminds me of the 'Brady Bunch' phenomenon. i.e. the notion that it is so bad that it's good.

i think the worst song i ever hears is "why" by yoko ono. i didn't actually heard the whole song but only 30 seconds of it and even after 10 seconds of it i couldn't stand it. it's an awful track because yoko screaming and wailing all the time like a dead cat. don't try it at home ;D

admit I seem to have acquired their album at some point in my life... I also acquired their album once when i was very young (about 6th grade). Another very stupid thing i did at the time is going to the spiceworld movie. when i look back at this accidents i allways tell myself "what were you thinking "

In my opinion, the worst song ever is Gary Jules' cover of Tears For Fears Mad World....I really, really didn't like what they did with it. Really? It's funny that. We used it for a dance piece at college last year. They accidentally picked up the original and we couldn't believe how different it was. Like a rave compared with the cover version, LoL. We finally got the Gary Jules version though. Mandy (our tutor) nearly had a fit when she played it, the thought of trying to do a contemporary piece to that, hehe ;D

Take a look at the photo at this link, paying special attention to the caption below it (it's a little hard to read, but worth the trouble if you want a laugh). babooshka.free.fr/Gallery/Kate-052.jpg

I'm a Jefferson fan, but this was way later, during the critically reviled Starship period. I love Grace, and it was all in good fun. ;D It was the 80's and they were KNEE DEEP IN THE HOOPLA! ;D
