I'll give it a shot! John Carder Cash, Johnny Cash's son,(can't help but notice his name is 2 letters away from Kate's brother's name) covered "hurt" by Trent, who #@$%^#ed Courtney Love (by the way she claimed he is a lousy lay), who was married to Curt Kobain who wrote Smells Like Teen Spirit which Tori Amos covered and also referenced Running up that Hill.. etc. what did you have in mind Al? What was the link you were looking for? Next link------Adam Ant (this should be not too hard...)

what did you have in mind Al? What was the link you were looking for? Well. close but not exactly. It was actually Johnny Cash himself who covered 'Hurt' by Trent Reznor. He was remembered by Bono, Trent Reznor and countless others. (see Nine-Inch Nails site) Tori Amos often covered this same song. There was a rumored relationship between Reznor and Tori. His 'Starf*cker Inc' was reportlely about her. She uses this title within the lyrics of 'Professional Widow Lyrics' from "Boy's for Pele"' Also, 'She's your Cocaine" is assumed to be about Reznor and Courtney Love; thus, fueling the speculation of a relationship gone sour. But, the only link I knew of was that they'd both covered 'Hurt" The soap-opera stuff came after research. Which interests me very little.

It doesn't really interest me either. It was just one of those stupid little sticky facts that never left my brain for whatever reason...

If Adam Ant is too hard--I'll give you this hint---He was the long time boyfriend of Amanda Donohoe. She can be a direct link to Kate. Yet there are musical ways to link them too...

Are we getting tired of this too? Or was Adam Ant too hard? Well, let's see if this gets it going... (and thanks for the hint Sheila, I guess we're even considering the Yo-yo Ma hint ) Adam Ant dated Amanda Donohoe who starred in Castaway which includes the Kate Bush song "Be Kind to My Mistakes" Here's another: Nat King Cole (and try harder than they both recorded Gershwin songs )

Natalie Cole, Nat's daughter, reportedly (see Gaffa FAQ) has performed "TMWTCIHE" before. She and Kate also appear on a best of 70's compilation album.
Next Link:
Charlie Parker

Charlie Parker worked several times with Miles Davis (if I must pinpoint something specific, let me point out "Barbados") Miles Davis was a street musician with Paul Schaffer in the movie "Scrooged" And Paul played piano for Kate on Sat. Night Live...

I thought of two routes right away. One is Jim Henson was obviously the creater and master puppeteer of the Muppets. Well there are a million ways to connect them to Kate Bush. Think of all the stars on the show, in the films, and on Sesame Street. The first one I thought of was Elton John (Candle in the Wind, Rocket Man) then there's Labyrinth connection with David Bowie... A connection to the Muppets could very likely connect Kate to hundreds of other actors and musicians! Too bad she wasn't on the show herself, since the timing would have been perfect. If her humor was in the right place at the time, an amusing mock Muppet video for something like Hammer Horror with her as a special guest host would have been spectacular! ;D Anyone see what I mean? ...and yes, Jim Henson was definitely struck down too soon. Another celebrity I cried over. And another piece of my youth gone too soon. Actually, similar reason for premature death as Jean Harlow - Christian Scientist. He developed pneumonia and died without medical treatment. Jean Harlow died at 26 from peritonitis brought on by kidney failure... the kidney failure was possibly from an infection of her widsom teeth that went long untreated since her mother was the Christian Scientist. She already suffered weakened kidneys supposedly from a beating across her back that she received from her husband Paul Bern. So, on that note... connect Jean Harlow (not using the coincidence I just sighted of course ) and, from what I am thinking, it can be done with 3 celebrities between them. Of course, you're always welcome to use less...

Well, I can do it with 4 Harlow was in Saratoga with Clark Gable, who was in Teacher's Pet with Doris Day, who was in With Six You Get Eggroll with Barbara Hershey, who was in Splitting Heirs with Eric Idle. I'm sure there's a better way to do it though. Let's try Dolly Parton

I'm sure there's a better way to do it though. You're so close, and on the right track for what I was thinking. Actually, I got it down to 2 links. Harlow was in a number of films with Clark Gable, who was in The Misfits with Marilyn Monroe. "Candle in the Wind" was covered by Kate Bush. I was being dim and thought first of Elton John and then Kate covered Rocket Man. Alright, on to Dolly Parton. This one is probably quite far from the route you had in mind, but here is goes... Dolly Parton starred in 9 to 5 with Lily Tomlin, who starred in the 1993 film And the Band Played On about AIDS research. This all star cast included Phil Collins as a San Francisco Bath-House owner. And, as we have mentioned in other trivia questions, Phil Collins not only played drums for Kate's performance of "The Wedding List" at the Prince's Trust, he also worked with her and Peter Gabriel on Gabriel's 3rd album. Next challenge: Sigourney Weaver (and Happy 54th Birthday today!)
