What's up with the new forum "The Sensual World of Kate Bush" by one of our welcomed members Rocket's Tail!! The link is present on our home page. Lori, please say you have some information about this. Are we not good enough? I certainly hope our ideas and posts are not culled and used for a nearly identical proboards growing forum! If so, I'm done!

I think the occurence of two boards with the same name was coincidence, but it is confusing. I would suggest the new board change it's name, or have the two boards combine members and content into one. I do think it would be unfair to duplicate content on the respective forums if they remain seperate.
I know Lori has said that we don't need too many moderators, but if Xan and two from the new board could moderate their own limited boards, I think we'd have an incredible forum. Being a moderator issures a following and particpation. There is a lot of knowledge and diversity among all the parties. What do you guys think? I think Dan and Lori could put together an awesome web-site and message board ( & chat-room?).

I'm quite confused here. Hey Xan Their link on our homepage is simply a crosslink. They've linked to us from their's. Hey AT What did you mean by this? I don't quite understand it. I agree with you AT that it'd be a good idea for the new site to change their name, but I'd hate to be the one to ask. Maybe they'll decide too that it gets to confusing. As for combining sites, I'd like RT to participate more over our board 'cos he seems a true Kate fan, however I think he might be one of the few Kate fans at their boards funnily enough ;D

The main problem with two seperate boards, as I see it, would be potential members using "The Sensual World" in a keyword search. Since Lori already has that name, the new board should gracefully change, or partner with the existing. If there is no change then one of the boards will get less hits., which is unfair to Lori and to us members. That's my opinion.

hello folks... I am here ;D ok, so the name thing was a coincidence. It was originally a toss-up between "The Sensual World" and "Coffee Homeground," but I knew there was already a Homeground forum. In fact, one of my motives for setting-up my own board was that I couldn't join Homeground because of my stupid PC. But anyway... I am happy either way. There are several other names for a Kate Bush forum, I'm sure, and I completely agree that it would only be fair for us to change our name. On the other hand, I'm also happy to combine forces, even though mine is a particularly miniscule one. You just decide what you want to happen and we'll do it... after all, it was us who came and sat on your name. It's only fair you get to choose in which direction to kick us

How truly mature for a man of your years. I would suggest you and Lori pm each other with details. RT you've got some great ideas. we'd love more of your input here, whatever you decide to do. This is already a multi-generational forum; but with the members on the new board, Dan you could probably set-up a live chat room for some of the younger members. Your board has almost got that feel already. PM me if either of you have questions. "Cos I've got lots of ideas myself.

I also just want to make sure nobody thinks I'm some kind of forum burglar (this is in response to the "culling" comment...) because that would hurt me quite a bit. I always set out to make things as original as possible. When I was about 13, I set up a site called "The Flunbs Online" (ok, I have always been a strange kid) -- www.geocities.com/flunbsonline/index121.htmlSomebody stole my graphics and ideas and it really pissed me off, especially because I'd spent so long on it. So I really hope nobody thinks that's what's happening, because I'm not like that at all. I'm happy to change things if that's what you want.

You can't handle the tooth! ;D J/K. But since you've asked, here are my thoughts. You guys have the youth, enthusiasm and graphics savvy to produce a beautiful website. There is enough existing wisdom and talent in this forum to help support a growing multi-faceted website. I think that teamwork could really make this idea explode. I consider myself creative with words and ideas. I would commit to help in any news reporting or editing. I will continue to post and moderate as I currently do. But, to grow, I really think we need more participation in the daily maintainence of the board. There are sometimes days where you or I aren't available to keep things pumping (Lori). So specifically I would suggest:
* Combining the treads from Dan's board to ours. * Have Dan Moderate Those threads on his own board (with his co-moderator if he wishes) * Have Xan moderate the Deeper Understanding"Board (or at least co-moderate with Sto) I really don't think this is too many. Any good team needs good leaders. Plus we'll get more structured input and ideas. * Accept all the members from Dan's site. * Establish a chat-room. (I think the people in their teens and twenties would be way more into this, and together, it seems like there are enough numbers (people) now. * Use the news bar to help get hits. i.e. including words like Kate Bush's..."new album'.... 'new CD-DVD,' 2004...words that Kate fans might use as keywords. in their searches * Send 'missionaries' to other music, art, poetry and creative writing sites (not Kate Bush ones) and post link. * Directly link to Gaffaweb (get permission if required) * Establish a channell to Kate's press agent for direct news. Do the same with EMI. (I would help with this)
More later...

I also just want to make sure nobody thinks I'm some kind of forum burglar (this is in response to the "culling" comment...) because that would hurt me quite a bit. That would be my comment. Sorry, I was just trying to emphasize what seemed to be a recent discovery. Altruest says I am overly dramatic (perhaps just when I post, don't seem to be in everyday life .) I am very impressed with your post RT. I really didn't expect you to be so gracious. I appologize if I offended you, but I believe many of us are quite possessive of our thoughts and time, not that we wouldn't gladly share them, just fear the potential of theft. I was concerned since no one had mentioned your site yet, that perhaps it was intentional. Currently, I believe this to be the "warmest room" to Kate fans in a forum sense, and we really try to maintain legitimate posts and fun. Granted, I have expressed my previous hesitation to encourage general hits, believing this could harm the integrity of this forum. But Al is right, we do need some more input to keep things "rolling." I guess I just hope we attract the right fans, if you know what I mean. I, personally, don't want to read daily ramblings about Kate hearsay and worship. So, I would like to moderate anything Lori would see me fit for. I don't have an extraordinary amount of time, so I would be pleased to co-moderate, to share the responsibility. Seems you're beginning to straighten this out. We'll see what happens.

Good luck there. Any of you try to contact them? Nothing. I have tried several email addresses and none of them are active. I fear that it's only a matter of time before the whole Gaffaweb goes "POOF" and its only a memory, since no one has updated it in years!

Well well, I come back here after a few day's vacation and find there is another forum that may be joining with ours? It sounds exciting. Hope it all works out.
