That would be my comment. Sorry, I was just trying to emphasize what seemed to be a recent discovery. Altruest says I am overly dramatic . What! When? I only remember saying that about MT. (sorry Doug )Currently, I believe this to be the "warmest room" here here! to Kate fans in a forum sense, and we really try to maintain legitimate posts and fun. Granted, I have expressed my previous hesitation to encourage general hits, believing this could harm the integrity of this forum. But Al is right, we do need some more input to keep things "rolling."/i] I guess I just hope we attract the right fans, if you know what I mean. I, personally, don't want to read daily ramblings about Kate hearsay and worship. We may get some unwanted garbage now and then; but I really believe we'll only attracte and keep like minded members. And if there's trouble, Ill run them outta town
So, I would like to moderate anything Lori would see me fit for. I don't have an extraordinary amount of time, so I would be pleased to co-moderate, to share the responsibility.
My comments above are in RedSo if Gaffaweb is dead, why don't we just have a resource button with "Gaffaweb" on it. (I'd like to see the same kind of link for a dictionary and anagram engine too )

Sorry, I guess I was being dramatic. I think the actual reference was "theatrical", but maybe that was just a comment about my astrological sign not my personality. Regardless, I was being a little dramatic, and no offense was ever taken Al. It's all in good fun, right? So, you agree to be the town sheriff here...Al? Do you think Gaffaweb is dead? Am I wrong in fearing its disappearance? I have been tempted to bring that information some life, would even like to help whomever is in charge, to prevent its loss. (But I fear any attempt would be understood as less than honorable .)

Well well, I come back here after a few day's vacation and find there is another forum that may be joining with ours? It sounds exciting. Hope it all works out. Time will tell August. Missed hearing from you lately.

I think, if anything is to be done to "save" Gaffaweb, then it could be done by the Homeground forums. I never could sign up there, but I know that a lot of the people involved with the running of that were also involved with Gaffaweb. I should imagine, however, that their hosting plan was only 10 years or something... in which case, considering the last updates were around 1996, it will be running out in the next few years. They've got some urgent sorting to do! I didn't take offence to any of the comments made tonight, truly, because I understand how you all felt. I think though, that if we did combine, we could make a pretty good job of it. Gaffa may be dying out (God bless it) but I'm sure we could do a pretty good job of keeping people posted while it remains idle. I really think this could be something great! (I kept thinking about it, which is why I'm still up... it's 2:20am here ) Also, I don't want to seem as though I'm just swanning in with all my ideas. It is, ultimately, up to you all here where you want to take this. I completely agree with Al on everything you've said - I think your ideas are great and I'd love to be a part of it. But I can't help feel just a little bit ahead of myself I don't really know how to put this into words... I guess I just don't want to seem like I'm waltzing in and taking over, because I really don't mean to, and I won't, and I'm happy if this doesn't go ahead, but would love it if it did... am I making sense? It is early morning, so please excuse me

all in good fun, right? Scointly! So, you agree to be the town sheriff here...Al? Yep! with my Libran propensities, I don't need no steenking badges! Do you think Gaffaweb is dead? Am I wrong in fearing its disappearance? I have been tempted to bring that information some life, would even like to help whomever is in charge, to prevent its loss. (But I fear any attempt would be understood as less than honorable .) I'd hate to see Gaffaweb die. I reference it almost everyday when I post or just for entertainment. There is a lot of input from the Bush family there. It would seem that a letter to Kate's press agent might accomplish several goals. a. Custodial rights to Gaffaweb. b. inclusion on press releases from Kate and EMI. (a longshot at best, but as in golf - more than 90% of putts short of the cup do not fall. ) So someone should take a stroke at it. What? Me? No! Someone young and female.

It is early morning, so please excuse me I have no horse in this race. The details are between you and Lori. You guys asked for my opinion and I gave it unvarnished. I recognize talent, and I think that a collaborative effort with gifted people yields superior results. Gaffa was not produced by one person. Divided responsibility would keep everyone on their toes. Lori would still have the keys to the store. But you guys do what you think is right. I'll be here regardless.

I need response from these people whether they'd like more responsibility on the board, preferrably by PM so we can discuss it if they're interested.

Me too, RT, but a moot point maybe. Your group seems to want to stay seperate, which is OK. But, I would encourage your group to visit here anyway. There are already four or five Kate Message boards, I won't mind visiting one more now and then. Anyway, still to early to tell, the poll results are not final.

I think I missed all the excitement Anyway, I'm quite in favour of joining 2 boards up, as long as Lori is. This site/msg board is her little child, so it's only right she does what she wants with it. Equally, a changed name would be much less confusing. I'm happy whatever RT, your Flunbs site is really cute! I believe that work did start recently on trying to restore Gaffaweb, or at least parts of it (I remember a post on the HomeGround website where they were discussing what they proposed to do - I think one of the creators/updaters was contacted). It would be a big job, so if they had started work, it could be ages before anything's ready. On the other hand, that plan may have fallen flat on its face. As for the " Deeper Understanding" boards, I think it could do with a moderator, and if Zan wants some help, I'd be quite willing to give it. She is officially the Understanding Genius though, so if I'm not needed, I understand completely!

I think its great Kate's got such terrific fans even after all these years! A merger would pool all this talent together and make for a truly rich forum. However, there is always something lost when different entities unite, which is why all members of Rocket's Tail's board seem to be voting to remain seperate with a new name. I have one question for you all: If you were Kate, what would you prefer?

Just to let you all know, RT has come up with the decision that he is going to keep his forum and change the name. All the members are against merging which is ok by me, and I'm happy that he has decided to change the name to avoid any confusion Xan, we need your thought on the 'DU' boards
