Believe it or not, "Like a Virgin" by Madonna. Even scarier is I've been listening to it a lot! I don't know what's gotten into me! 80's nostalgia attack?

Great sig, Sheila! anyway, the last album I bought is CocoRosie - La Maison de Mon Reve and I highly recommend it to all who are not easily nauseated.

Captain Fantastic & The Brown Dirt Cowboy (re-mastered) - Elton John. With extra tracks and a 2nd CD featuring a previously unavailable recording of Elton's infamous Wembley Stadium gig, in which he premiered the whole album live with his (then) new band. This is an absolute steal even if you already have the original album in your collection.
Live Champions - Queen & Paul Rogers. Dinosaurs walk the Earth again, but this is ridiculously good (except when Roger Taylor sings of course..)
Latest Hayley Westernra album , though I haven't listened to it yet.

Oh I agree, Mat. Absolutely. But there's nothing wrong with another (and in this case legendary) singer interpreting the songs with what remains of the original performers. Rogers doesn't seek to copy Mercury's phrasing - he gives us his own take on the songs.
I think it's OK too, for Brian May & Roger Taylor to revisit these old songs - why must their careers come to an end simply because Freddie was so reckless in his lovelife? The tour was sold out too - so there must still be an audience wanting to hear these songs and to enjoy the performers ample talents. Freddie is given suitable acknowledgement and has love expressed. His Mother was also present at the shows, so I'm sure it was all done in the best of taste.
But I personally must admit to buying the recording out of curiousity..

Last cd I bought- Madonna- Confessions on a Dance Floor
last track I downloaded-Kylie Minogue- Cowboy Style
I guess I'd recommend the Madonna cd if you like Madonna or dance music.

As usual, I had money to burn and bought in excess of 20 - 30 CDs in the past 3 weeks I'll spare you who they are cos no doubt you'll have no idea who they are and probably don't care anyway... But, I'm listening to one of them right now: Darkthrone - Total Death

I just got the Mountain Goats' Tallahassee album. I'm enjoying it quite a bit. This is from 2002 and while I don't see it as being quite up to par with the most recent release, The Sunset Tree, it's a very good itself. If you're ever looking for (mostly) acoustic frenetic energy that dwells on doomed, somewhat fiesty relationships this one comes highly recommended. A standout track is "The House That Dripped Blood." - -

... to the rotting stairs
