Wow, picturing your cloudbusting, Al, actually gave me a shiver! That would be amazing! I know we are only supposed to post songs that don't have videos, but at the time I came up with this video idea (15 or so years ago) I didn't know there WAS a video to this song... Army Dreamers. It would be in black and white, and very grainy and whispy, but in parts colorized in 2 colors, grayish purple (not too unlike the shade of these words) and olive drab green. Kate would be in a purple dress (very much like the one in the Wow video, but I swear at the time I didn't know about that video either!) and she'd be holding her skirt and dancing around a coffin at a funeral as the pall bearers sing the BV's . Ribbons and flowers would be thrown into the frame from off camera.

Again I will bring up how awesome a video collection of Kate alone at the piano would be. ("Under the Ivy" "Feel It" "This Woman's Work" etc. plus some remakes.) It would sell out on DVD, right?

I love "Never be Mine" I get alot of imagery as well as smells and feelings.
So my fantasy video of this song would be a part 2 of the Hounds of Love Video. There is a dark country road, suddenly pierced by headlights-it lights a lone female figure walking on the highway, who turns, meekly raising a hand as a weak effort to hitch aride(she's not really ready to leave her Reverie)Its Kate wearing 40's clothes (part 1 had a 40's feel) She begins to sing and memories flood (as we see images of them dancing at the newyears party) she passes a farmer burning leaves:cuts to a memory of them still with streamers on them & cuffed, as if they escaped the police at the party. They pause in front of a similar but bigger fire, (symbolizing their growing passion) back to today, she walks further, remembering as she sings:They are at a barn, cutting/picking the cuffs off. Back to today, & the line is sung "that clumsy goodbye kiss..." he kisses her in that barn, akwardly as they part ways, she not wanting the adventure to end, she turns away, he leaves: " ...ooh the thrill and the hurting" she runs out of the barn as the sun is rising and the mist hangs, but he's too far gone. Back to the lonely road, another car passes, she hardly looks as she sings. we see the car slow in the distance. It seems to be reversing slowly. It pulls up beside her, the door opens. The outline of the man looks like someone we know... she pauses, thinking about the offer. she pulls her coat around her, a wry smile creeps across her face"...will never be mine...."

How nice to read about these Fantasy Videos. Should we hope to see Kate produce scenes around her new songs? Scott.
