;D Ok, now for Rocket's tail, a fave of mine. You'll have to stick with this one to the end.... At start, open with lighting big fire work (biggest rocket i could find...representing, perhaps, last overblown attempt to save relationship...) any how, fire works fade to big argument and a stormin off of the chap leaving girly weepin n not too happy . Put on my pointed hat....climing over the rails of a bridge above river (waterloo bridge if mr livingstone {mayor of london!!} will give permission for the shoot!!)... dah de dah... and now shooting into the night...jumps off the bridge kerspash!! in water gurgling n drowning... shot of face saying "was it me said you......" Carry on with shot of being dragged form the water, paramedics doing the revival bit, crowds, couple of shots of treatment in ambulance that is obviously moving fast. Hospital, treatment from the view point of an out of body experience... Close with shot of pale, white, life free face staring blankly (well you would if you were life free I suppose!) upwards and the final shot is of a doctory type person closing the eyes. Got that? Right now the clever bit.... Play the whole thing backwards to the music with "looking up into the sky) tying in with the eyes being opened (get it...the reverse of them being shut...) on, on, on to "was it me said...." which is the only part of the video to remain the right way round (Mmmm, I know the timing would have to be worked out carefully for that to work ), then carry on in reverse to the end (or the start, which ever way you look at it. It's good to finally get these thoughts down in print. Any road up, Friday night here (no, I know!, you don't get too much social life with 2 kiddy winks asleep upstairs : . So good night all and have a good weekend. Regards and best wishes. MM

MM, Rocket's Tail is one of my fave Kate songs too (if not my fave) - it's thoroughly underrated. I really love your video plan - I can imagine the ambulance whizzing past which the drums pound and the guitar (what do guitars do?) wails?...it would go so well! I love the playing backwards but too. Come on Kate, listen to MM!

I'd like to hear more of your ideas MM. Also who would like to see at least just performance videos on the next album? I don't even need the big productions, just the visual performance of Kate and the Muscians.

I'd like to see one for "Houdini". Bassically it would be the Dreaming album cover come to life. The seance Kate describes would also be acted out.
I've often wished "Mother Stands For Comfort" had a music video. I envision a very sparse video, just Kate alone in a dance studio in the early morning. Bright sunbeams coming through the window. I actually made my own video for "Mother Stands For Comfort" but it was just a slide show of Kate photos cut to the song.

y Nice idea 'PTA' I'd LOVE to see one for 'Night of the Swallow'. I love this song and do think a great video could come from it, but I'm lacking in ideas at the moment. Any contributions are welcome

;D OK chaps, here goes with Constellation of the Heart. Please indulge me with comments........ Right, start with a black screen, still silent, track not started yet. Into view comes a red/pink heart shape (as per the sleeve lyrics, all a flashin' like a neon sign. Now the music starts and the picture immediately cuts to a 1960's stylee star ship enterprise type bridge with Capn Kate at the helm and the band at the rest of the controls or milling about looking like they've got something to do, this scene continues during the intro, towards the end of the intro bring view screen into shot showing star map with a heart shape of stars just noticable (don't want to make thing too easy!). Capn Kate opens with 'Steer your lives...." and the crew pay attention. Crew now (still working) sing 'Take all the telesecopes....' and (not sure about this bit but I can't think of much else and it might get a bit boring other wise! ) During the chorus lights dim, floor starts flashing and the bridge resembles a 1970's disco dance floor and Capn Kate leades the crew in an impromptu syncronised dance along for the rest of the chorus. Cut to the crew looking at the view screen with the afore mentioned pink and red heart just visible in the distance, crew panic!!! Cut to door opening and Capn Kate being woken from dreaming (sheep probably, but any fur bearing creature will do! ) by some of the crew... Crew speaks (so the soundtrack will slightly lead the action, but will catch up between lines) 'We think you'd better wake....' Capn Kate replies,... dah de dah to the end of that part of the verse and then looks directly at camera to say 'It's gonna hurt.....' with sad look.... Crew obviously reply 'Who said.....' Cut to group of aliens on some asteroid (you can get cream for them you know, asteroids, painful ) arm in arm sing 'Just bein alive.....' Capn Kate now asks 'Find me the man with the ladder' Aliens 'Without the pain.....' Capn Kate, now back on the bridge aimlessly dancing happily around the bridge singing the last bit..... fade to black and the pink/red flashing heart. There, it works in my head anyway! just done this while listening to the red shoes on the old computer thingy, it even tells me what I'm listening to, just worked out how to do this, wow aren;'t they great, I mean I didn't know what I was listening to without it telling me, Mmmm deeper Understanding or what! Regards and beat Wishes from the Mad Man MM ;D

Right this is my version of Rockets Tail.Honest this plays out good in my head. Right this is set on a Theatre stage(why? I have no idea.Maybe because it's dramatic and I feel it should have an audience watching LOL). On the stage there is darkness. In the right hand corner of the stage is a bonfire with a guy on top but this is no ordinary fire. The flames are created by dancers dressed in bright orange, yellow and glittery costumes moving to make the flames in between the wood. Kate dressed in long coat stood next to a male is singing the first part in a 'I'm thinking aloud' but singing it to the audience Kind of way. The next bit will see Kate how she is day 'or rather' night dreaming herself. When it gets to the "I put on my pointed hat" see's Kate stripping off the coat to reveal an all in one suit dance over to the back of the bonfire up some steps till shes on Waterloo Bridge. She then hangs over the edge and jumps off into the air(some wire work is here). After a few fancy turns she drops to the ground looks up all be-draggled "Was it me that said you were crazy?" Then (as the soloist from The Trio Bulgarka starts to whale)The Guy gets up and starts doing the same.Flying the arms around upwards to some more aerial flyers which are supposed to be fireworks. They fall to the ground covering kate as the instrumental music plays. Then they part and up come kate "I put on my cloudiest suit" Kate showing off a black and silver suit. The firework dancers start to rise up. "Size 5 lightening boots too" Kate stomping her feet in the ground. The firework dancers beckoning her to join them. Kate thrusts a hand up above her head "Cause I am a Rocket" She starts to fly and joins the other dancers. They do twists and turns. Kate to audience "Look at me go with my tail on fire". Then before the song winds down Kate lands gently to the ground her coat ends up around her and she stands back next to the guy. They look up to the sky as one dancer falls to the ground "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee".
I tell you it looks better in my head. Wes Anderson I am not. ;D

I would love to see a peformance video (better yet 'live') of "Cloudbusting.' Picture an ensemble behind Kate that includes Bela Fleck and his band, the LMO string section and the percussion section of a marching band. Agatsuma would add some oriental strings (Shamisen) Dave Matthews, John Mayer and Emmylou Harris would add backing and duet vocals for texture. And the Vienna Boy's Choir would build the crescendo. (remember, money is no object here. ) Bela Fleck plays quirky 'jazz banjo' his band is comprised of odd instruments that would suit this song well. The strings would add layers. But the climax would be the sheer number of drums beating as they march over risers from the back of the stage. The gauzy clouds break up, and the sun breaks through, while the drums, strings and voices unite. Can anyone else see this or am I looney?
