guillaume de machaut - agnus dei from the messe de notre dame.
i'm learning to my test in history of music right now and part of it is hearing classic works at home and then analyze them on class. so my teacher gave us 4 discs of the pieces we need to learn and in one of them is this beautiful work from the middle ages, it's a beautiful a capella track sung by 4 men which doesn't sounds like men at all ;D, i love a capella tracks. i think middle ages is one of the most underrated eras in music. you should really check out works from this era especially from the late middle ages during 1100 - 1400.
learning to tests can be so fun sometimes ;D

.... i think middle ages is one of the most underrated eras in music. you should really check out works from this era especially from the late middle ages during 1100 - 1400. Yes, but other than re-runs of Dick Clark's first gig on ''Gregorian Bandstand'' from that era, good source material is hard to find. ....J/K You should listen to some Enigma and kick back with a nice Merlot. As far as a cappella, Emmy Lou Harris and Linda Ronstadt (from this era of course) are wonderful to listen to sans instrumentation.

What do you think of this a capella number? click on ''Prospero's Speech''Although not strictly a capella, essentially it is. Chiefly, though, it display's the wonderful talent of Ms McKennitt.

Hell, yeah! I'm just getting into them myself; what a band! Only just got into them myself a few weeks back Was looking at a site, got intrigued by the genre they were being classed under, downloaded a random song (The Drapery Falls) and a few days later I went out and bought their entire back catologue!
