You've gotta listen to this, it's quite amusing, and the lyrics are below: Song link: www.missinglibido.org/katebush/Oh%20England%20My%20Leotard.mp3I was into yin and yang and hatha yoga Ginseng and caraway seeds and being a non-smoker My carrot quiches were better than the bought ones And I was thicker than two short ones People bought my latest hits Cos they liked my latex tits Everyone trying hard To get inside my leotard Went to my hairdresser to have a hair-do (hair do-be-do-be-do) He asked if I knew A La Recherche De Temps Perdus That's how I was introduced to Colette, Cocteau and Marcel Proust Now wholefood cookery is just a sideline (Shrill 'La-La-la' middle eight.) I went to Cairo and I read the Gnostic Apocryphon of John in the original Coptic Korsakoff's psychosis theories And the Fibonacci series Studied acupuncture and the Bible - the Byabubble - Opened the windows in my mind 'It's not your mind, it's your body they're into-oo-oo' My business-manager said. He said that I need an intellect like I need a Hole hole in the in the hole in the head Though I'm an honorary member of Mensa now I have to try and keep up a pretence somehow 'Cos you buy my latest hits Because you like my latex tits And you're all trying hard to get inside my Leotard leotard leotard Oh England, my leotard Ooh ooh ooh ooh

A clever, albeit demeaning, parody that exemplifies the male dominant slant on evaluating talent. Sad.

Oh I remember this, a satirical programme on the BBC in the late 70s, called "Not the Nine O'Clock News". The regulars were (all very young) Rowan Atkinson, Mel Smith, Griff Rhys Jones and Pamela Stephenson (wife of Billy Connolly).
Pamela Stephenson performed this in some outrageous Kate style costumes. Usually the show was quite good, very pythonesque at times.

I'm fairly sure that all of these parodies were written by Richard Curtiss, of Blackadder fame. He also did the parody songs for the satirical puppet show, Spitting Image.

The lyrics of The chicken song were written by rob grant and doug naylor who later created Red Dwarf, and Chris Barrie was also an impressionist on spitting image. But you already knew that, didn't you adey?

I can't stop listening to "Oh England My Leotart" today. amazing how well she impersonates Kate in her "The Kick Inside" years, actually. The "bi-a-bubble" and improvised "la la la la"s are class. Pamela's marvellous! Although they got the bit about "being a non-smoker" wrong!

amazing how well she impersonates Kate in her "The Kick Inside" years, actually. It's the best impersonator I've ever heard of her, there's very few people who could reach the notes she does. I can if I record my voice on the comp then double the speed up, hehe ;D

You know on the lyrics how at the end it says: "Oh England, my leotard Ooh ooh ooh ooh" Did anyone actually hear this because I never. When I listened it stopped after leotard, leotard, leotard (like Violin). Just curious
