I have just been listening to some KB music. Nothing strange about that as I listen to some of her music most days. What is strange is that something got me thinking. I still find her music to be the most beautiful in the world and a song that I have heard a thousand times before can still touch me so deep inside. As I have said on here in the past 'Oh England my lionheart' still makes me cry if I listen to it properly (I mean if I am sitting down listening to it rather than doing something else and it comes on) but there are so many other Kate songs that touch me so deep inside. I love many different types of music (Kate, Gary Numan, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, David Bowie) But it's only Kates music that makes me feel like this. Does everyone else feel like this after hearing her music so often? You would think that after so many years and so many listens the magic would wear off but it does not. I'm not really explaining myself very well but I think that if you feel like I do about Kates music you will know what I mean. I could ramble on about this for ages but I will shut up now!! I just felt the need to tell you all how I feel. Hope you don't mind

We don't mind; in fact I'd bet we all agree with you. I've been listening everyday for at least ten years, and off and on for over twenty. Good to hear from you. Hope you post more often.

You are spot on Lionheart, Kate's music is timeless. Its magic power moves me every time I listen. I believe this will happen to the day I die (And beyond) This is one of our motivations for continuing to post on this board. Also the excellent company!

Just been listening to "There goes a Tenner" It didn't sell many copies as a single, but I just love her voice on it. Telling a story with tongue-in-cheek to music. Funny thing is, I never liked it much until recently. Just shows how your tastes can change. Although I'll always keep her for dessert!

NEO. I've always enjoyed "There Goes a Tenner' The video is great too. But, don't you think that there are more political and moral ramifications to this story? Also, can anyone relate the song "The Rare Flower" to the theme of "There goes a Tenner"?

Indeed Sven, Kate's songs always contain depths that even she was not aware of initially, (at least not on a conscious level) that is what makes her such a great artist. She possesses a magic that can acheive the impossible, namely to restore innocence where it has been taken away. To reach those who cannot be reached. I don't think Kate ever deliberately sets out to be political or moral, its just that the nature of the material leaves room for such an interpretation. Having not heard "The Rare Flower" I cannot comment on your last point. Thanks for asking though Sven.

I can definitely see a link between The Rare Flower and Tenner! I wouldn't have thought of it before, but in TGAT the rare flower she is picking is pockets. The Rare Flower is a great "coming of the age of deviance" song that gets realized in Tenner (and also explored in Leave it Open) OUR LITTLE CATHY'S ALL GROWN UP AND EVIL!
