It has been nearly ten years since Kate`s last album. I would like to ask all members to give their opinion as to why they think it is taking so long for her to produce her latest recording.

MT, I believe it is a combination of factors that have contributed to Ms. Bush not producing an album in ten years. Some of the reasons we will probably never know. The reviews of "The Red Shoes" and the /,X & ) I'm pretty sure was a set back to Kate's creative energy. Other possible factors:
* Fatigue and burn-out * Side projects * Family and personal relationship considerations. * Kate's perfectionism
At present, Kate Bush can enjoy fame without all the distractions and invasions that promoting an album incurs. She probably watches her funds closely, ("No Danny you can't have a new guitar"), so money is not an issue. She apparently doesn't need constant public adoration like say.. Madonna might.
Who knows what other reasons. But the anticipation has us marking time. Right?

I agree with all of Al's points and I want to add that she is probably worried that she'll create another "The Red Shoes". I'm not criticizing the album, but I think she's probably quite critical of it on hindsight, as it wasn't as much of a success as she'd hoped and got some negative feedback (don't ask me why, I love it to bits). To be honest, I'm glad that she probably takes this on board. So many artists say "I don't care about how my albums do in the charts", but I never really believe them - as artists, they strive to do well and have others enjoy what they're best at. I understand some artists may just care what their closest fans think, but for someone as successful as Kate, it must be a blow to think that some people were disappointed with something that you've taken so much time, effort and energy to produce. So now she's going to create an album that will blow us all away. Not even the critics will be critical!
