Well, here we are: the final Eat The Music: KateRate. So let's make it a good one! Please choose your 6 favourite demos from the list below - you can list more if you like, but only the top 6 will be included. I haven't included songs which later went onto albums, as that may give them an unfair disadvantage. Your choice: It Hurts Me (Feeling Like A Waltz) Stranded At The Moonbase (Keeping Me Waiting) Surrender Into The Roses (Camilla) Playing Canasta In Cold Rooms (Rinfy The Gypsy) On Fire Inside A Snowball (Hoe In The Ice) Dali (Ferry Me Over) Where Are The Lionhearts? (On The Rocks) Craft Of Love (Craft Of Life) The Gay Farewell (Queen Eddie) Something Like A Song (In My Garden) Frightened Eyes The Disbelieving Angel Nevertheless You'll Do Who Is Sylvia? (Come Closer To Me Babe/Goodnight Baby) So Soft (You're Soft) Pick The Rare Flower (Don't See Why I Shouldn't) While Davy Dozed (Davy) Scares Me Silly (Gets Me Going) Humming You Were The Star Cussi Cussi Atlantis SunsiIf you haven't heard these, go to www.norbry.net/kate-bush/mp3/ and enjoy! Voting closes Wednesday 2nd June.* *but please be patient with me, as I have exams from the end of this week so the times of results may be completely random, as this week! Enjoy!

I'll go first! My top 6: 1. Where Are The Lionhearts? 2. It Hurts Me 3. Frightened Eyes 4. Something Like A Song 5. Stranded At The Moonbase 6. Pick The Rare Flower Hard choice, because there are so many great songs. Some of them really deserved to go on "Lionheart", I think. It seems a waste of such gems!

Something Like A Song 6. Pick The Rare Flower I love these songs because they are unpolished and showcase her raw talent, both as a writer and performer.

I do have the demos but I don't really play them that much, so I'll wait until the list is wittled down.

Well done Paul, I knew you could do it! Everyone so far has gone for "It Hurts Me" - anyone want to predict this as the potential winner?

So sorry Sto, I won't be contributing to this particular Kate Rate. Whilst I do have some of the demos, I rarely listen to them and certainly don't know them well enough to comment and reject tracks as necessary.
I'm actually in 2 minds about these unauthorised demos - if some of the stuff I did at that age surfaced, I would be mortified. But I can't deny their interest to KB fans and retain every respect for you guys playing on this chapter of Sto's epic quest. Enjoy and I'll see you next time - just don't think me stuffy!

Adey, I remember reading somewhere that Kate said she had some "good stuff" (paraphrasing) in her demos, and I agree. Song like "It Hurts Me" and "Lionhearts" are really quite emotive, and she shows herself to be extremely aware of love/sexuality and desire/poetic use of language from a young age, themese which are all echoed in her later work. They're definitely a part of the story which shouldn't be ignored, hence their inclusion in KateRate. Even if you don't contribute to this, I encourage you to listen to some more of the demos - you'll actually have some 'new' Kate material for you in the 11 year absence of new material!

Oh I quite agree Sto. As I say, I am working my way through them and some of it is fantastic stuff. In many respects the start of any artist's career is potentially the most interesting part if not the most accomplished.

Agreed! It's interesting to see the differences between the demos and "The Red Shoes" (just because that's her most recent). She evolved, but that doesn't necessarily mean she got better, just different. Also, I think some of the tracks like "Rubberband Girl"/"Eat The Music" just wouldn't have worked properly on piano. I'd love to hear studio versions of the demos, with synthesisers!
