Welcome to the Christmas round of 'Eat The Music'...no, it's no different to any other round but we might as well get into the Christmas spirit, mightn't we? Voted off this week were "James and the Cold Gun" and "The Man With The Child In His Eyes". Please vote off your least favourite 2 songs from the list below, as always saying why you like them/anything about them you wish! Moving Strange Phenomena Wuthering Heights Feel It L'amour Looks Something Like You Them Heavy People Room For The LifeHappy Christmas everyone!

Lamour Looks something like You--for the same reasons I stated before... Okay, now it's REALLY tough! Room for the Life--I actually love this song now, but I used to not like it. It hurts me to vote it off--I was even thinking of trying to cover it now, but I can't bring myself to vote off any others so in light of the fact that I used to not like this song, despite knowing I was wrong in disliking it, I'm gonna have to use that as the basis for the vote off.

There is not a song left that is truly not worthy of the top spot. That being said:
"Feel It" Just because I like the live version better. I do like the concept of the female character being both aggressive and submissive. Most interesting though, is that she is in control of the situation. It is an empowering position for a young woman to claim control of, and affirm her sexuality.
"L'Amour" I love 99% of this song. The only part I don't love, is her delivery of "L'Amour" It seems too formal - not as intimate as the rest of the lyrical presentation.

Strange PhenomenaI like this song, although I've never actually listened to the album specifically to hear this song again, which I have done with others. I like the Latin chant at the end too, it's quite atmospheric. Evanescence did something similar to end their "Fallen" album - influenced by Kate perhaps? Feel ItOnce again, I like it, but it's never struck me as a favourite. I do sing it to myself sometimes though

Strange Phenomena Everytime you listen to Kate's songs there is more to discover. That is her genius, sheer depth like with classical music. For me this song portrays an awareness of the connected nature of existence and a fore-knowledge of the arrival of "G" and "the hand 'a molding us."
Room for the Life Kate's voice in her early career was so girly/wise. Allied with the depth of material, this is one of the things that has earnt her titles like "Earth Mother" and "Faery Queen." Certainly her interest in psychology and folk tales/songs presented her a vast resevoir on which to draw, for that we are eternally grateful.
