Right, time for a fresh album and the most recent (!) Kate album seems quite appropriate as we (hopefully?) approach some news about Kate 8 (...as many fans have done for the last ten years ). As I'm positive you already know, your choices are: Rubberband Girl And So Is Love Eat The Music Moments Of Pleasure The Song Of Solomen Lily The Red Shoes Top Of The City Constellation Of The Heart Big Stripey Lie Why Should I Love You? You're The One Vote off your two least favourite songs, commenting on the songs and why you do/don't like them. Lori, you should have a field day with this one! Sorry everyone for not being around lately by the way, I'm very busy with schoolwork at the moment...I hardly get online at all

There is only one easy one for me here: * "You're the One" I've never given it a fair listen and it has not grabbed me or grown on me as of yet. Secondly: * "Big Stripey Lie" HAS grown on me. I don't care for the beginning, but it builds lyrically and melodically from there. I haven't posted much this weekend 'cos a spilled a bottled water on my keyboard. Just got a new one today. Sto we do appreciate your commitment to this thread and to the board in general. Make time when you can. I'm looking foward to your comments on "The French Connection"

I haven't posted much this weekend 'cos a spilled a bottled water on my keyboard. Just got a new one today. LOL! Your poor keyboard I'm quite surprised by your choices actually, Al'! I thought you'd be a fan of both. I'll reveal what I think of them as the voting goes on... But this week I'm voting off: * The Red Shoes It's a nice track, but I find it a little too chirpy. I actually prefer the Shoedance version! Why it was released as a single, I shall never know - I really don't think it deserved it. * Why Should I Love You? I think this is the worst song Kate has recorded to date. It's an okay song, but really not up to her usual standards. I'm not a big Prince fan and that may have something to do with it. I'd have MUCH preferred "You Want Alchemy", or even "Show A Little Devotion"!, on this album instead of "WSILY?". I'd really like it to go out in this round! Al', thank you. I will reply to the "French Connection" thread, but if it's a little late, I apologise. Not only am I busier with school than I've ever known before, but I also feel like your keyboard (well...maybe a little less dramatic than that, but I am a bit ill at the moment ). Isn't it about time Kate released a new album?

Constellation of the Heart, which i will diligently vote off until it is gone. This is my least fave Kate song. Still better than the best song by so many other artists...
Big Stripey Lie--I like this song, and I love that she played guitar on it herself and was very inventive. But the song doesn't seem to breathe very well.

AGHHHH, I don't think I'm even going to be able to cope voting on this album, let alone read all of your cuts and why. I feel like it's my duty to personally defend each track! So, please don't be too brutal! It's breaking my heart.

Lori, you should have a field day with this one! LoL ;D I was actually going to make some kind of comment on this album but apparently I've commented enough, hehe so I'll just get on with the voting But please guys, this is only my opinnion and I still love Kate, don't take it to heart The Red Shoes - I think it's quite a dissapointment for being the albums title also. As I think these tracks should be made to be extra good. Big Stripey Lie - I consider it to be too much 'noise'

Well, I'm pretty new around here, and I find this concept a bit odd...but simply cannot resist a poll! So here goes... I would have to vote off the title track and Constellation of the Heart. The latter is easy to explain -- I have just always found it a bit too poppy, as if Kate was consciously trying to have a top-40 hit. It drags down the album for me. As for The Red Shoes, well, this is really more a process of elimination choice -- I don't dislike it, but I can't imagine the album without any of the remaining tracks. Ironic since it's the title track, of course...

I agree that the concept is difficult at first here LG; but, it has grown on me. Defending you're favorites is fun. It is also an opportunity to discuss each and every Kate Bush song. We often hear something from someone else that we would have never recognized ourselves. At the end, we'll have a representatice compilation of our collective favorites. So anyone out there that wants there voice included, speak now or forever hold your tongue.
