Thanks for the good response everyone last week, we haven't managed to get onto a second page within a thread for a few weeks here! Round, down the business. This week "Kashka from Baghdad" is returning home with 'another man', after holidaying here since 1978. Meanwhile, "In The Warm Room" a fire seems to have started due to the heatwave we'd had this week, so we must wave goodbye to both. This week, vote off your two least favourite remaining tracks from the following list: Symphony In Blue In Search Of Peter Pan Wow Don't Push Your Foot On The Heartbrake Oh England My Lionheart Fullhouse Coffee Homeground Hammer Horror Enjoy voting and comment on the better aspects of the songs you're voting off wherever possible Closing date for votes is Friday 15th August!

I'll vote now so that Al' can vote! * Fullhouse - of the remaining songs, my least favourite. It goes on a bit too long and I don't think it really achieves what it could have done. I like the jazzy element to the chorus, though. * Coffee Homeground - this is hard to vote off because I love it. A very funny song. The high-pitched screechy parts ("in the coffee" etc) sound like they should be irritating but they aren't at all, in fact they're my favouirte part of the song! Paranoia taken a step too far - I love the whole idea of the song. However, I just can't vote any of the others of yet so, sorry "CH"!

"Symphony in Blue"--same reason I voted it off last time. God, this song would have sounded good on The Sensual World. I think this song suffered the most by being on the rushed sophomore release...
"In Search of Peter Pan"--Love it, but I can't vote off anything else. I'm not a big Disney fan.

*Don't put your foot on the heartbrake* I love the double meaning, a shame we never take our own advise.
*Coffee Homeground* Reminds me of Caberet.
I really can see Kate doing a rendition of Symphony in Blue on her world tour, 2008.

Shelia, if "Symphony In Blue" had been on "TSW" I'm sure it would have been much different! Slower, quieter vocals and without the pun at the end! It would be very interesting though! NEO - World tour in 2008? When she's 50?

I know its incredible, yet it is happening, I feel it right at the heart of my being. Kate is an inspiration for a generation. She is magnificent!

~ Don't push your foot on the heartbrake Love the Hammersmith live act for this one

Oh gosh it's getting really tough. I love Lionheart!
Anyway, here goes...
Fullhouse Hammer Horror
I love them both but when I first listened to the album a couple of years ago these two had to grow on me where-as the others that are left grabbed my attention right away.

It is now safe for me to vote. I agree with MC, that the 'Hammersmith' performance of 'DPUFOTH' was incredible. It is much better as a 'performance art' piece. Having never gotten over the sophomoric word play (sorry, she was only a teenager) my first reluctant ouster is: * "Don't Put Your Foot on the Heartbrake" (although I love every other element of the song. The strong vocals the great melody and the unique phrasing are all wonderful.) And for my previously mentioned reason: * "In Search of Peter Pan"

I'll have to agree with Al here. In Search of Peter Pan & DPYFOTH Again, like we all say, both great songs, but these did have to grow on me. I felt that DPYFOTH was the James and the Cold Gun on this album, sort of a retread. But I do love it now. And Peter Pan, I have also recently begun to appreciate this song, however, when I would play LH with a passive listen (usually at work) this song just passed me by. So I guess that's why it has to go, just didn't grab me as much as some of the others. And like Sheila, not a big fan of this story.
