Slightly early this week as I'm going away for the weekend... Only one song got enough votes to be voted off this week, which was "The Fog". Sorry to all those of you who formed pro-"The Fog" groups The following songs remain: The Sensual World Love And Anger Never Be Mine Rocket's Tail This Woman's Work Vote for your least 2 favourite (or "favorite" for our friends over the pond) from the list and state why you like the song, or dislike it, alhough the latter is now quite unlikely. I want some in-depth discussions this week, please!

Sorry Zan, I won't be online at all tomorrow until Monday! If it makes you feel any better, "The Fog" was 2 votes ahead of everything else, so you wouldn't have helped How about this: your votes this week count as double to compensate?

OK....I'm sticking to the same choices I made last week: * "Never Be Mine * "Rocket's Tail" I gave reasons for my vote last week; but since you want more details, I'll defend my remaining favorites. "This Woman's WorK" As I've said will probably be the overall winner. It will at least be in the top two. My reasons on that were clear last week. What may be an overiding element in my vote, however is the associative effect of "The Sensual World" There are certain emotional 'cues' in this track that pleasantly remind me of a former lover. She is a fond memory that I tie directlly to this song. The exotic sound of 'TSW" enhances 'amourous activities' substantially. To this day, hearing this song triggers discernably turgid reactions. I'll save room to discuss "Love and Anger" when it will be my only vote next week.

Thanks for the vote Al' - very interesting stuff! I think songs are much more interesting when you can relate to them - I've been listning to "TSW" song a lot today and there's definitely just something about it.

My votes this week go to: * This Woman's Work - for no real reason at all, other than it's my least favourite out of those remaining. That's not to ay I don't like it, because I adore it! If anybody else recorded it, it would be the outstanding track on their album. I think the best bit is the build up, near the end, then the way it just trails off.... * Never Be Mine - with a very heavy heart, I vote off this track. It's an absolute beauty, which I fell in love with as soon as it started playing for the very first time. You'd think the chorus would get repetitive but it never does. I love the richness of the sound and especially the line "That clumsy goodbye kiss could fool me". The Trio also add extra magic to the song. Although I'm voting it out, I don't want it to be voted off...the "burning fields" shouldn't yet be put out, really

Not at all!! People online often hold back personal details because they're embarrassed/don't want people to know about them, so it's always fascinating to find out more about someone! I meant "interesting" sincerely, not sarcastically (after all, Kate would not approve of the sarcasm now, would she? )

As much as I spout off; I'm bound to reveal a few things. Your comment about sarcasm was so coincidental. I had just read your other reply regarding same.

Now this is just absolutely brutal. But I suppose I have to pick something, and now that The Fog is gone... Never Be Mine: I adore this song. One of my favorite Kate Bush songs of all time, but that's personal! As for strongest links though, this is a delicate, beautiful, sad song, but not as powerful as those that are remaining. Rocket's Tail: Again, I love this song. I've really begun to appreciate it lately, however. I always thought, and probably still do, that it interrupts the flow of the album. The energy is incredible, but as for the overall theme of the album, maybe it was better on The Dreaming or Red Shoes? The entire album is a commentary on the relationships between men & women, particularly the embracing of the female sensuality. Don't worry Sto' I forgive you. You don't have to count me twice. Just a little warning next time, OK? I'll try to be better about getting it in under the wire.

Zan, I understand what you mean about "Rocket's Tail" interrupting the flow of the sensuality of the album (although I'm not sure "Deeper Understanding" fits in with the theme either!) but I have to say, I think the track in question acts as a perfect bridge between the tranquility and tenderness of "Never Be Mine" and "This Woman's Work". Although it's full of energy, it still has a tenderness to it, which makes me think that it wouldn't quite fit in on "The Dreaming", even though it possesses the weirdness that is needed to be on that album! From next week, I'll say when the final day for posting the Weakest Link is every week so that we avoid people missing the deadline! Hope that'll sort out the problem

Oh, I DO love Rocket's Tail, but I had to choose something, right? I see what you mean by it's emotional value not being quite right for The Dreaming, but there are many tracks I could fit with on that album. This is purely hypothetical, since it probably wasn't even written, but it could also fit on TRS. The sensual flow of the albums is not so important on those. And Deeper Understanding is about a desperate need for emotional contact, even if one get's the comfort through a machine. That and the similar music is why I thought it fit.

My votes: *Rockets Tail* A fantastic number that really gives you a feeling of being that firework reaching for the sky. *This Woman's Work* Understanding the feelings of giving birth and nurturing your baby, beautifully done. Never be mine, for personal reasons that will become apparent is among my favourites Kate has ever done.

Zan, I see what you mean about "Deeper Understanding". I suppose it does fit on the album if you look at it from that slant. The music does, as you say, definitely fit in! Thanks for the vote MT! I'm glad I'm not the only one voting off "TWW" - it's a hard thing to do! "Never Be Mine" is one of my Kate favourites as well - unfortunately so are the other three! Thanks Lori - it does get harder every week, but the results at the moment are how I expected they would be. If one song is voted off this week, then the final next week will be a choice of the one best track among three songs. If two songs are voted off, then the choice will just be between the two remaining! As the results stand at the moment, we would be doing the former...
