This is the last week of "The Dreaming" which means that, by next week, we will have a "winner" - the strongest link will be revealed! I thought that, in order to keep a little suspense going, we wouldn't reveal which song we chose to vote off this week but instead, you could private message me your choice by clicking on my name (on the left) and then, in my profile, clicking "Send this member a private message". You can comment on both songs on this board, saying why you think they made the final round, but not revealing your choice to be voted off! Voted off this week were "Sat In Your Lap" and "Leave It Open", leaving the following two: Suspended In Gaffa Night Of The SwallowEnjoy and tell me if those rules are too confusing...!

Sto; I'll try to honor the spirit of your request by praising both of the remaing titles. I will not be disappointed with either of them as representative of the best of this album. "Suspended in Gaffa" makes me think more than "Night of the Swallow" "NotS" paints a more vivid picture than "SIG". "SIG" has better vocals. "Nots" has better music. This is tough, but I"ll IM you with my choice.

Your descriptions of the songs make it even harder to choose, Al'! "Suspended In Gaffa", to me, represents Kate at her uptampo best. I love the whispery bits before the chorus, although I'm not sure what she's saying in some of them! The idea of the girl in the mirror is fantastic. "Night Of The Swallow" is beautiful, especially the Irish influence. The whole concept of the song is genius and something that it would be unlikely to hear from any other artist.

Oh and Al' - why do you think the vocals on "SIG" are better than "NOTS"? Elaborate!

I think she deftly delivers the more intricate vocal passages in 'SiG.' e.g. "I want it all" (she seems to be singing a duet with herself). The cadence and structure is also more unsual as opposed to the straight up power in 'NotS' Both songs have unique arrangements: but if not for the video of "SiG' the choice would be easier. Because I can use my imagination more on 'NotS' it can be whatever I want it to be. But it's hard to deny Kate's vision and presentation on "SiG' Can anyone guess my vote?

I don't think anyone's going to have a difficult time guessing where my vote is!

* Night of the Swallow * The intro to this song always sends tingles down my spine. The string part before Kate starts singing always takes me back to a former life in Southern Ireland where toiling in the field made up such a large part of the existence. Singing and dancing is what made it all worth while, particularly when in love! * Suspended in Gaffa * This song always reaches in and asks me a question. Where is the other half of my life? Without it I will always be incomplete. Will I ever reach it? I remain suspended because, "I'm scared of the changes" I really love the way Kate looks in this video as well. Is it obvious which one I have voted for?
