For the first "Weakest Link", I thought we could see which is the most popular track on "The Dreaming". It's an extremely diverse album so it should be interesting to see what aspects people do and don't like! So, all you have to do is mention your LEAST favourite two tracks. Those with the most votes will get voted off! Then next week the same will happen until we have a winner So, as you probably know, your options are: Sat In Your Lap There Goes A Tenner Pull Out The Pin Suspended In Gaffa Leave It Open The Dreaming Night Of The Swallow All The Love Houdini Get Out Of My House If you like, you can also leave a little comment as to why you chose the two songs

I'll get the ball rolling I vote off: 1. Pull Out The Pin It's a great song, but after a while the "I LOVE LIFE!" starts to annoy me a little! 2. There Goes A Tenner Again, it's a great song but, well, I like the others better ;D

FOUL!! You,ve not only started with my favorite album, but my two of my favorite songs! Some people say heaven is hell I guess. What you have described as annoying, to me embodies the passion and committment of Kate Bush. The raw, guttaral, strident, shrill...whatever you wish to call much of "The Dreaming", is what I admire most about Ms.Bush. The mainstream may be with you, but not us die-hards. So in protest, (and in lieu of a rulebook) I'm going to cast my two votes for one song; mainly to protect the two you've chosen from extinction. There is not a weak song on this album to me. But, I'll cast two votes for **"Houdini" as 'slightly lesser in brilliance' from this project. "Pull out the Pin" I vote as number one.

LOL! I see this is going to cause a little controvercy, but that's not a bad thing "Pull Out The Pin" *is* a fantastic song, it's just the least favourite of mine from a collection of fantastic songs - in the same way you feel about "Houdini" (which is one of my favourites). I don't think I like the mainstream songs - I see "There Goes A Tenner" as being a much more mainstream song than, say, "Get Out Of My House". However, perhaps "Pull Out The Pin" is just a little too un-mainstream for me?

My two is: All The Love Get Out Of My House I don't really have much of a valid reason for them both as you's seem to have I can only say that I like the other tracks better

You are correct Sto', a little controversy can be a good thing. Me voting twice for the same song notwithstanding (I won't do it again ;D) It's just that this may get more difficult for me each week! Your wording of 'least favorite' makes it somewhat easier. I'm going view this as reaching a positive goal. Do I understand correctly that we will chose the best from each album, and then put those head to head? If so, that sounds like an interesting process. Good start and good job!

I'm going view this as reaching a positive goal. I was thinking about that - it does seem like a bit of a "negative" thing to do. But, as you said, it culminates in a positive result and, after all, it's just a bit of fun ;D And yes, you're correct about carrying out this process for each album and battling the "favourite" songs against each other. However, I think it will have to be three songs voted off each week or else it will take about half a year! We'll see how it goes

I'm not going anywhere. ;D But proceed as you wish. Lori I'm sure can find another project for you. Right Ms.L?

I am very sorry Al, but I am in total agreement with `Sto Pull out the Pin is not high on my playing list, it just doesn`t capture me like Night of the Swallow does.
There goes a Tenner, a fun song with no real substance ( only Kate`s beautiful voice!)
I`ve got to say `Sto, I really don`t like being negative about any of Kate`s material, it feels so alien.

I guess a life and death dilemma over ancient beliefs vs powerful indifference isn't enough to keep it out of the crapper on the first go 'round. Maybe you guys would like country music! It's about dogs and trucks! (Sorry fellow Nashvillians) Kate Bush has been critical of music 'snobs'. Country music in fact has roots in Irish folk music. The simple messages offer solace to barflies around the world. (sorry again , this time to Kate who hates sarcasm.)

If only you could bend like the willow in the wind.
Poor Al, its not nice running down your favourite track! You are right though, Kate handles deep subjects with an eloquence not seen very often in popular music.

Bend hell! I'm trying not to SNAP! I guess I was under the assumption that a good song had substantial content. I'll admit 'Pull Out the Pin' is a bitch to dance to.

Sto', you've got a tough act to follow, as you have proven to be quite the provocateur with this thread.

It's great to see you back MT, will this be permanent now? Yes, it seems that this has stirred up quite a bit of controversy altruest! I agree MT that it is a negative project, but as was mentioned earlier, it has a positive goal...and hey, it's been an excuse to discuss some of her songs, in both negative and positive ways. It might be better to do a "Strongest Link" but I'm not sure how that would work! Alt' (well, if you can call me Sto'... ) - I'm going to listen to the Moments Of Pleasure playlist shortly before going on and then "Pull Out The Pin" later this evening.
