Hi I'm new...from Seattle and my name is Troy It was 1985 and I heard 'Running up that hill' on the radio and I was very impressed! In those days I usually heard about new music from my friends from Europe or hanging around Import record shops.....Thats how I got into sounds like Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, OMD, Ultravox, XTC, Madness, Toyah, Steve Strange, Bill Nelson, Japan etc etc. So to hear a song like that after all that she has done untill then is kinda embarassing...... Hounds of love was me first and the rest was hustory....Love it all!

It's great fun, interpreting Cocteau Twins lyrics! they're so... mysterious.
(A good band)
And BTW, it's primarily an embarrassment to your "friends" in Europe as well as to US radio that you didn't hear of Kate sooner. Well, ok... I suppose you coulda tried a little harder, but all's well... welcome, mrx!
It's much easier these days, eh?
EDIT: ooh! I'm Breathing!

Thank you for the warm welcome!
Music from the UK areas is simply the BEST!
We had a saying here for a while...."Giving the English Synthesizers ...was like giving american native Indians Alcohol"
hehehehehe
I can say that cuz I'm 1/4 Cherokee.

Interesting saying--I've been getting into old 80's English music. Interesting enough that I'm not even offended by it. I am half Chippewa and my Grandfather semi-recently officially drank himself to death. No hard feelings--in fact I kind of smirked at it! (I'm a sick little squaw!!) 80's music is pretty cool!! My Grandfather is frowning upon me now I can feel him.
