when i was very young (about 11 years old, now i'm 18) i used to see VH1 alot and back then they used to play the babooshka video alot and everytime i saw it i could laugh for hours because it was so hilarious(at least that what i thought back then) you know, seeing a woman with a chello who is doing very weird movements and later becoming a kind of an amazon worrior can be very funny to an 11 years old boy. Not only that but i also thought that kate is kind of a russian singer Well all this years kate was for me as the weird Babooshka singer until last year a friend of mine introduced me to more of her music and from then i was hooked on her, although i still thinks that the babooshka video is still very funny.

I consider wuthering heights to be the most amusing video i ever seen, although i don't think Kate intended it to be funny

The Wuthering Heights video was the first time I'd ever seen Kate, and I was about 13. I thought it was absolutely hilarious. I can understand it a bit more since I discovered what the song was all about, but it's still outrageous, however a very amusing video that I love to watch.

I saw "Wuthering Heights" when I was about 6 and I just thought she was a crazy woman. I'd seen it a couple of times since and was fascinated by the waving part at the end. Then I saw the "Running Up That Hill" video and I was hooked from then on... BTW, I don't think I've properly said "Hello!" to Mat' and Mish', so, welcome you guys, nice to have you onboard!

I also saw Kate in action for the first time in the Wuthering Heights video. I had read about it the day that I discovered her (maybe even on this board?) and found a streaming file of it a couple of days later. I must say that she seemed pretty kooky... especially the backbends on "falls through without you" (it reminded me of some moves I used to have as a dorky 6th grader ). However, the kookiness really just makes her that much more fascinating to me. I have always been drawn to unusual people, and I especially love seeing someone "do it their way" with such complete confidence. Also (and in spite of the backbends), I think she is gorgeous in way that reminds me of a mountaintop or a cliff looking out over the ocean (as opposed to a super model). She just oozes wild-eyed romance and magnetism. Frankly, I can't imagine how any man with even one eye and half a brain could avoid falling totally in love with her, just from this video. Like a sailor to a siren... Speaking of sirens, I am struck by how often I have seen Kate described using words like "siren", "witch", "bewitching", "witchlike", etc (the mysterious kind, not the evil kind). I figure the Wuthering Heights video got all that off to a healthy start! The waving at the end is one of my favorite parts too. It is a really great visual summation of this romantic, tragic story and Kate's beautiful, mesmerizing interpretation of it.
