I reckon i was about 10-12 when i first saw the "music video" for Wuthering Heights. I live in Singapore and back then (about the late 80s), the media authorities here often flitered what was seen and heard. So imagine my apprehension when i saw this lady on the telly with all consuming passion and power belting out for "heathcliff". I was in awe and a little afraid to be honest. I had my first visual glimpse of the kooky eccentric but extremely talented grand mistress of female performers. In terms of aural pleasures, i first heard her while listening to Utah Saints' Something Good, which sampled "Cloudbusting". Although i know squat about rave culture ( i live in Singapore and was still very much a kid) i was geniunely amazed at what a fantastic riff that song had. And so, to this day, Cloudbusting remains my favorite Kate Bush track. I'm still in love with her voice and her music. So there.

You'll find plenty of other stories here that testify to the impact of Ms Bush. You've got alot of reading to do.

Interesting how a sound sample can spark off an interest in the donor. Perhaps I do 3rd party sampling an injustice..
