My first recollection of Kate Bush was one of awe and fascination. It was an American broadcast of 'Saturday Night Live' (1978). She was the musical guest; doing a two song set. Being young and inexperienced myself, I was not aware of the concept of performance art. I was mesmerized by the visual as well as the musical aspects of her work. Her unique facial expressions, her movements, her voice- they all spoke to me on many levels. The cadence of the progressive/ reggae/ (? I really didn't know how to characterize it!) 'Them Heavy People' blew me away. I was hooked from then on.

Lori, Yeah, my first exposure to Ms Bush was a visual as well audio epiphany. It was so unlike anything I'd seen or heard before. SNL was (and still is) a late night comedy show that always features musical guests. Several British comedians have appeared on the show. Eric Idle had requested Kate Bush to appear as the musical guest for the show he hosted. Actors such as Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy to name a few, started their careers on SNL. Sorry to take so long to get back. I think I have been over posting of late.

I think it was probably MTV (remember when they actually played videos?) that first made me aware of her. They used to play A Deal With God quite abit as well as that video she did with Peter Gabriel Don't Give Up. I don't know it was like I TEXTknew TEXT about her but it wasn't until recently that I really TEXTdiscovered TEXT her. If that makes sense.

Yeah August, I remember When MTV was mostly videos; but I never noticed Kate Bush getting much airplay. PBS had covered her Hammersmith Concert, which was great. I wish it would, as with all her other work, come out on DVD. EMI are you listening!
August, I applaud you attempt to show you've got flair.

Yeah, August, they are. I wonder if they are relatives. Have you noticed the similar bone structure? If so they're a dysfunctional family, eh?
