In that we nearly lost all our posts from the "General Board" ; we realize how important they are to us. So, vote yes or no (in your response) to having them kept at the top of the forum (Lori would sort them in order by making them 'sticky.') If you vote yes, Pick your first choice on the poll, then your other nine favorites in order of preference, in your reply. (they don't have to be on the list ) But explain why. Maybe you'll influence the votes of others.

I voted for "Kate's Influence" because it never gets old. How she influences me (us), other artists, fashion, culture, or whatever. It is also interesting to me to try and figure out what influences her. By knowing the sources, it is an opportunity for enlightenment. 2) 'Favorite Lyrics' 3) 'Kate Bush Material Re-released' 4) 'Fave Kate Bush Track' 5) 'Kate Unplugged' 6) 'Covers' 7) 'Misconstrued Lyrics' 8) 'This Message Board' (in retrospect should be #1) 9) 'Subject Matter' 10)'Kate's Future' Oh, and YES I vote to keep our best threads at the top, to show our visitors our best stuff. Lori, I don't mind if you even delete some of the frivolous stuff. (even mine)Mostly the things that are irrelevant. It would be less to wade through for new visitors. If you had rather, Lori. you could move the winners to a new board called e.g. "There Goes a Tenner" described as our Hall of Fame, top ten threads. If you do that then I vote to make "This Message Board" the only 'sticky' topic on the general board. Are you with me?

My votes: 1. 'Misconstrued lyrics' 2. 'Kate Bush Material Re-released' 3. 'Subject Matter' 4. 'Fave Kate Bush Track?' 5. 'This Message Board' 6. 'Kate Unplugged' 7. 'Favourite lyrics' (as it grows, it'll get higher no doubt ) 8. 'Kate's Future' 9. 'Kate's Influence' 10. 'Covers' No, I'm afraid I don't like the idea of having them all sticky, Al'. I really think it would get too crowded at the top and would be a bit of a struggle to find new posts. What I suggest is just having one or two of them sticky, perhaps the 2 that win this vote?

How about a Hall of Fame board? Anybody else?
I lean toward only one sticky on the general board, and then just a top ten board that is locked from more threads.

Yeah, sorry, I forgot to mention the Hall of Fame board! I said I loved the idea in another thread and I still do. I think Lori probably has enough work cut out for her with the "Deeper Understanding" boards, but after that, maybe she could set that one up. That one should be a members only board, a kind of treat to be able to post there when you sign up!

I think Lori probably has enough work cut out for her When I was a young whipper-snapper, I used to have to walk 20 miles to school in the snow with no shoes. You young people! You're right, the other boards should be finished first. I like the idea of members only too.

I think it's funny hearing what people thought some of the lyrics were before they knew better. And I must admit I've thought some really strange things too ;D

Hey, before I vote, I'm confused. Are these going to be moved to their own boards, or perhaps a board for "Other Discussions"? The ones that couldn't really support their own board, but are an important thread? And what's the Hall of Fame? Did I miss that? Shouldn't all these boards be just for registered members, and only the window for guests? Why bother to post as a guest, when you could be a member? Registering is not really that big a deal? So, before I vote, I just want to figure out what we're doing here?

OK..At first I thought keeping our favorite topics at the top of the 'General Board' would be cool. But newbies would have to dig deeper for new threads. The alternative is to vote for the top ten threads that would be moved to a 'Hall of Fame Board" which would be locked by Lori from new threads; but open for discussions and new posts on each topic. It may sound confusing but it keeps our favorites together. With this scenario, Only the "About this Board" thread would top the "General Board. Does that make sense?

As an experiment, I dug up several older good threads on the General Board. Things were sluggish over the weekend, and I wanted to see if this improves traffic. Also it makes my case for the Hall of Fame board. Right?

I voted for Favorite Lyrics, mostly since no one else has yet. Other faves are: 1. Kate's Influences (all before and after her) 2. Ask Kate (and not out on a date!) 3. Covers (as in songs Kate should cover) 4. Most Emotional Song 5. Still So Beautiful... (more discussion as to the mystery of why we never tire of her music) But I enjoy the other topics too.

I'd like to see these top threads on a "best of" or "hall of fame" board so they don't get buried every week or so. Maybe a best of each year. Like "top ten of 2003"
