Hi To Everyone! I'm Sarah and I have loved Kate and her music since Wuthering Heights..although I must be really honest and say that it is only recently that she has really SPOKEN to me with her music. I don't know wether I am now a lady of a certain age (coming up to 40..YIKES!) or what, but I am feeling such meaning from Kate at the moment. Does this make sense??? I have always admired her beauty, talent and sheer individuality. Whilst playing "Lionheart" in the car the other day, my 10 year old daughter said "Mum, I am really getting into Kate Bush" and that did make feel good xxxxxxxx

You mention playing Lionheart - is it a favorite of yours? It is a favorite of mine and is an album that doesn't really hold the attention of many Kate fans for whatever reason(s). And yes, it makes sense to derive meaning from Kate's work.

Yes, Lionheart is a favourite...I so remember seeing the video for Hammer Horror on Multi Coloured Swap Shop (remember that?! ) and heading straight to Sydney Scarboroughs (a local record store long gone) to buy it when I went into the town that afternoon... It's often said how you can tell that Lionheart was a rushed piece of work released quick to capatilise on The Kick Inside, but I see it as a sort of sister album to it... I often play them both in one session I also have a soft spot for The Red Shoes and I am loving The Dreaming at the mo!

Yeah it's the same for me. The only track on which I notice what might be evidence of a compromise made to the demands of expediency is Kashka from Baghdad which I regard as being a great half of a song. All in all I think it would have been great if Kate had "rushed" a bit more often than has been the case. It does hold a certain charm. Perhaps a nostalgic one? I agree with a comment I've read concerning it that mentions how this album sounds more "80s" than do her albums from the 80s.
