Niki is touring the Netherlands at the moment in a show called "KATE". She sings Kate songs at the piano, accompanied by bass player and violinist. This is a promo for the show that I will be seeing tonight: www.chancesforchildrenevents.nl/And this is Niki's website: www.nikiromijn.nlIt's in Dutch of course. As fate would have it everyone I know is suddenly too tired, sick, etc to want to see the show with me. Philistines, I say! --Paul--

Stylistically and vocally she reminds me of Kate. 'Great link.

Stylistically and vocally she reminds me of Kate. 'Great link. It turns out that she was a minor pop star in the Netherlands years ago. The record company told her that she was going to be "The Next Kate Bush" and then gave her terrible eighties electropop to sing. Sort of sub-early-Kylie Minogue style stuff. She then moved into musical theatre and appeared in stuff like the Dutch version of "Cats". At times she sounds very much like Kate, although she doesn't quite have the range (but then who does?). It was a little spooky during certain moments in the show - she doesn't go overboard trying to impersonate Kate, but she does deliver the essence of KT. Since Kate is unlikely to ever tour I guess this is about as close as I'm going to get to a live show - unless she ever invites me to her house for a private audience. Yeah, right! --Paul--
