Aside from the Rolf project, yes, loads more to come from Kate. I reckon Kate's brain is going into overdrive. They'll be many more albums to come. I'm thinking something really meaty is next on the cards. A little 'The Dreaming' heavy - something abit 'showy-offy', if you will. Mmmmm. It's not just because I'm hoping, it's just I don't see why she wouldn't.

Yes, Amy, something like "The Dreaming" would be very welcome! It seems that KaTe did write more songs like those on "The Dreaming". So maybe she even recorded the vocals? The KoTM vocals were apparently recorded years before the release of "Aerial", so maybe KaTe has a store of pre-recorded vocals to play around with? "Yes, I wanted something new, and to begin with it was extremely difficult. All the songs I seemed to write sounded too much like the last album. I've never seen any point in repeating things you've already done before. I think it's a dangerous thing not to search for new ways of approaching songs. Oh, Kate, you are tearing me asunder! The thought that have written more songs like those on "The Dreaming" and are throwing them away! My poor little heart.... Yes, everyone should grow and change, but if you've discovered perfection, maybe it wouldn't be such a waste to mull over it a little more.... More Kate?
A 9th album of recordings? Very unlikely I think. What a shame.
Maybe something different - private projects for private friends.. Some written work.. Sculpture..

Yes, KaTe will release a 9th studio album of recordings! After all, there must be plenty of excellent outtake materials to advance, along with new ideas and interpretations to follow. We must be patient, and keep the faith! But whether it's released through Guy Hands' EMI is another matter... The reclusive Kate Bush is said to have telephoned Hands after the departure of Tony Wadsworth, the UK chairman and chief executive, known as the "artists' ally". She allegedly told Hands: "Tony Wadsworth was the only guy I knew at EMI and now he's gone. This is the first time I've spoken to you and it'll be the last. Goodbye." ... thelondonpaper 16 Jan 08

A month or two before the first news of "Aerial" broke, I predicted on another thread that Kate would never release another album. That taught me.
I agree with Amy, I just don't see any reason why she wouldn't continue doing albums (so she should! :-D). Now that Bertie is school-age, especially.

Thought you folks might like to know about this: Edi Stark: "So life is busy?"
Danny Thompson: "Recording - how about this - with Kate Bush, a week ago. What a lovely lady she is. She's so fantastic. Stunning."
From "Stark Talk", BBC Radio Scotland, 9th December 2009. See here: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00p6w07/Stark_Talk_Danny_Thompson/(at about 8m30s) Thank you, wreich, for posting this information. A very interesting interview, and it's wonderful that KaTe and Danny have been in the studio. Now we can really begin to anticipate KaTe's 9th studio album...

Hey Neo.. I dream all the time my friend!
My dreaming won't send kate down to the studio at the bottom of her garden.. It won't inspire her to sit down at that piano.. If all our wishes had, there'd have been dozens of albums.
News of recordings with Danny Thompson are enough to maybe generate just a little hope. But I don't know if I can put myself through the tortures generated in the creation of Aerial - from 1st whispers to the stress of purchase day. God alone knows what the process must have been like for KB.. But at least she knew what was happening!
I'm a long time fan, so I'll continue to expect nothing. Then maybe I'll have a big surprise in some year to come, and find more than just a satsuma in my xmas stocking..
God bless all here by the way.. nice to catch up..

Yes, Adey, by way of comparison: Peter Erskine recorded his sessions for Aerial in 2000 -- 5 years before the album was released, and Michael Kamen's orchestral arrangements were recorded in October 2003! So my money's on a 2011 Xmas Stocking release!
