Check out THIS LINKIt is run by a Kate Fan (Jon Snow?). So you may hear her or like-minded artists there.

I will. Also, I'm sure you all know about it, but it's new to me. Pandora.com. You put in Kate Bush and they play her or a bunch of people I would never heard of (including Happy Rhodes who was another thread) that are similar. Good stuff. Anyone ever heard of Robinella or Lisa Mednick or Hooverphonic? There is no chance I would have ever heard those folks where I'm at. :(Thanks for the tip.

P.S. And if you don't like what they're playing, you hit the "I don't like it button" on the "guide us" pop-up, the song stops and you go to the next one and they will never play that song again. And it's free.

I have one of their CD's. 'Haven't played it in a long time. They remind me a bit of a more electronic 'Portishead' I think I liked most of what I remember.

They will play similar types of music, which you can then fine tune. It's great. 'Listening to "KotM" now. EDIT: I just added Loreena McKennitt, Weather Report and Steely Dan to my favorites list. This site is really cool. You MUST check it out if you have not already.

Yes, I've heard Hooverphonic. A somewhat interesting band for me. I think Al actually gave a decent general description of their music. ;D I haven't yet listened to the radio - but I will at some point.

Yeah, Pandora is cool. I added Weather Report also and I'm hearing some great stuff. I was working at someones house and the lady who lived there--not a real musical person--turned me on to it. :-*They have musical archivists--mostly musicians-- who started what the call the "music genome project." While it sounds contrived, it really isn't. They have people going around the country looking for obscure or local music that we would never hear. I sit and write, and I'm constantly switching over to give thumbs up on what they play so that its' added to my station. They actually played Soft Machine; I didn't think anyone knew of them except for the few people I forced to listen to them. I'm glad you like it, Al, 'cause you've turned me on to some good sites. Check it out everyone!

Hell yeah. Heavy Weather, 8:30, even the early stuff. But Jaco was the man . He did a solo album that was just released or re-released with big horns. Have you heard it? Mahivishnu's first 3, Chick Corea, that was the stuff I loved to play, though I didn't get to very often. I'm not saying I was any Billy Cobham or Narada Michael Walden, but I had my moments.

Jaco was my favorite from Weather Report as well. He and Erskine were up tempo and led the band in a direction I proffered. If Zawinul would just lose the vocoder. I'd love them even more. ;D

I tried to listen to it but when I clicked on "enter as guest" nothing happened, for a long time, until I closed the screen and came back here. Has this happened to anyone else?

If you're talking about Pandora, no. But when you do go there and sign up (for free), they'll keep your profile and stations you've created. Try again.

An update. I've now tried all three of the radios that have been mentioned.
I was impressed with Pandora in that I created a "station" based on a rather obscure artist and it then first played the artist in question and then two tracks from somewhat similar artists, at which point I left the site.
Radioparadise seemed a bit complicated to me - not in the playing of music but in the features of the site. I would have preferred for it to list the actual artist as being "the artist" rather than having that distinction go to radiopardise.com itself - I couldn't track the plays from this site 9you know, the last 25000 tracks played and so on...)
Bluespace - this site doesn't list the artist at all. It lacks the do-it-yourself customize features of (I believe) the other two stations. What surprises me the most about it though is that Al would recommend it when on the opening page of the site it lists Tori as being one of the most highly recommended artists and not Kate. ehh... looking at this now it seems a bit too critical - it's a fine radio station, and particularly so if you're looking for 80's music.
