The new muse album is just incredible. I have never been a real fan but just kept an eye on this band as they seemed to promise so much.
Well they have delivered in spades now, this album is just awe inspiring, a new classic is born.
The imagination and creativety is out of this world. It's impossible to pidgeopn hole, there is electo synth, queen style harmonies which sound angelic, flamenco guitar, metallica metal (track seven is just wow), Led Zepelin, even a ballad with just his amazing voice and acoustic guitars.
Its a glorious glorious sound, I just can't get over it. The best thing I have heard in years, really.
You will not be dissapointed.

Hello manofkent.
You will not be dissapointed.
We-yell...
OK, I'm not disappointed though certainly I am less enthusiastic about it than are you.
a new classic is born. I agree. I think it captures "today's" sound, at least one of them, in a manner similar to how Radiohead's OK Computer did the mid-late nineties - so sure, a classic to be.
My favorite tracks after only a few listens are Supermassive Black Hole (I also like the video) and Invincible. I also like the lyrics of pretty much all the songs. Here's one of them:
Soldier's Poem
Throw it all away Let's lose ourselves 'Cause there’s no one left for us to blame It's a shame we're all dying And do you think you deserve your freedom
How could you send us all far away from home When you know damn well that this is all I would still lay down my life for you And do you think you deserve your freedom
No I don't think you do There's no justice in the world There's no justice in the world And there never was
The biggest negative I have with the album however, and with the band itself, is that they're a bit too prog rock-ish for my taste. I get a similar image to that which I get when I hear Rush or Pink Floyd - a clean studio. These are two popular bands of course and it's not a criticism of the music but just an explanation (of sorts) of why I can't fully get behind this band. What I am saying is that I can actually pidgeonhole them to my satisfaction - prog rockers.
ehh... if they'd make something that wasn't (supposed to be) awe-inspiring I'd like them more than I currently do. Still, it is a good album and I agree that it will most likely be regarded as being a classic.

i heard the album too and after a few listenes i must say i'm quite dissapointed. like kevan said, i think they tried so hard to sound glorious and "awe-inspiring" that they forgot to pour emotion and soul into their music, and i simply can't love music that doesn't touches me on emotional level. the only song from the album that i really liked was "take a bow" and "supermassive" is also nice. many of their fans actually say this one is lesser then their'e previous albums, so maybe i should check those instead
