The sugar substitute I use in my coffee contains saccharine. I guess I'll look at Splenda. Hey SHEILA (or anyone I guess) - have you noticed how Splenda is taking over?! I mean it's everywhere now - Diet Coke, candy, baking packages, and so on... I've lately upped my diet soda consumption from my recent low. Nina can come over and box my ears. I am however still going strong with the tea. I don't suppose anyone has heard the Hindu abum...

Well I haven't heard it but it's called Om Namah Shivay and has a cover picture of a Shiva-like looking... creature (which has its tongue sticking out at you.)

"So Bad" Also, it might be worthwhile to note that many products, some sodas included, in Europe still use saccharin, proven to cause cancer. Gilda Radner went to her grave believing that diet soda is what killed her. I'll get off my soapbox now. Sorry for the lecture. Nina would've given it to you much worse. Ok, after all this time I just want to say - I think Nina was talking about the TASTE of diet soda.

Actually I have seen Nina live. I was so close to the stage that I got doused with her squirt gun-like sunglasses (baptismal experience ;D) as she performed a hilarious cover of Hendrix's Foxy Lady. I have a Nina tape with concert footage but nothing from that long ago, more 80's stuff. Did you ever get the Big Band Explosion yet? You did, didn't you, and are too embarrassed to admit I was right about it!

God I'm so jealous!!!!
as she performed a hilarious cover of Hendrix's Foxy Lady.
Nina is hilarious here too. What an outfit... and topped off with plastic nipple earrings.
heh none of the band shows any indication that they're aware the concert is being filmed... except for Nina, who runs in front of the guitar player during his TV-Glotzer solo - what a ham! The band can really play.
Well now I have four clips! Oh and these are professionally shot - there's a "WDR" on the upper right corner (the West German abbreviation, eh?) and multiple cameras are used to film the event.
Did you ever get the Big Band Explosion yet? You did, didn't you, and are too embarrassed to admit I was right about it!
While I'm sure your comments about this album were incredibly intelligent as well as insightful I've gotta say... I can't recall your mentioning anything at all about it. Well anyway, no I don't have it - yet. The one that I most want is Om Namah Shivay!

I have Om Namah Shivay! Sheila, you don't need to sample this album - all you have to do is get it. It's very very good. The first half are studio tracks, and since I know you like Omhaidakhandi I know you'll like this as well. The second half is live tracks and are also very nicely arranged and performed. The most striking aspect of this album is how demure, I said, DEMURE, Nina is.
And hey, what did you say about Big Band Explosion?

I was watching the Charlie Brown Easter special last night and I heard the absolute damndest thing. It made me fall over! As Snoopy is helping set up Woodstock's new birdhouse, the music in the background was absolutely unmistakeable! IT WAS HERMANN HEISS HERR!!!!!!!! Nina stole the music from a Charlie Brown easter special from 1974!! It's so funny where Nina gets her inspiriation! It was it I'm telling you--note for note!

"This is my depressed stance. When you're depressed, it makes a lot of difference how you stand. The worst thing you can do is straighten up and hold your head high because then you'll start to feel better. If you're going to get any joy out of being depressed, you've got to stand like this." Charlie Brown
