I had not heard of this 'down-under' artist until minutes ago. Her performances on 'Music Choice' sounded like a hybrid of Alanis Morrisette, Tori Amos and some Steely Dan type arrangements. I have not read any reviews yet; but would like to share the link. Start with her cover of (Bill Wither's ) "Casualty" on the home page recordings link ( "select a track"). Go from there on audio cuts. . Then check out the video's (start with ''Scar") at her site hereLet me know what you think. I'm pretty sure Sto' will like her. She impressed me as more than a cookie cutter pop-star wanna be.

I remember just about a week ago noticing a video of hers. She made an impression on me, I noted her name down immediatly. I checked out the link, and saw the videos, i like them all, especially "Scar". I guess you could add "Eddie Brickell" on that list of comparison's. I think she'll do well ... good stuff!

I've been at the site for the past 24 hours, and I'm really taken by her. All the songs are amazing, I haven't been so passionate about a new artist since I first discovered Tori Amos a dozen years ago. She shoots straight into my top 10 artists of all time right from the first listen. Thank you so much for recomending her Al!! Just for info purposes, He first single "Scar" debuted into the Australian top 100 at #1. It stayed at #1 for 10 consecutive weeks in the radio airplay charts making it Australia's #1 song of the year 2004! I believe that she will have great success in the US & Europe, with The Special two but especially with Scar. Look out world, here comes Missy Higgins

Now let's not go overboard. I can see "Scar" getting worn with too much play. I really like her jazzier arrangements better. e.g. "Casualty" She'll have a way to go to make my top ten.

I'm not going overboard .. I'm seriously hooked! "Casualty" deffinetly, also "The River" and "They weren't there" Really beautiful tunes! Oh yeah and "All for believing" has that Loreena McKennitt sound to it. I've been discussing "Missy" in different places, and they all say the same thing: That she's amazing live! She's presently touring the US with Anna Nalick and Howie Day. it sounds like an excellent show, if she goes to your area, you might want to catch it! And i have no doubts whatsoever about her in my top 10!

I really like her jazzier arrangements better. e.g. "Casualty" Well Al, my friend... you haven't heard the half of it... get a load of this live version of Casualty www.jennifergarner.fancube.com/missy/Casualty_falls.mp3And since you like her jazzier arrangements take a listen to her "This is how it goes" tune, it seems to be the most liked out of her jazzier stuff!

Actually, the live version I heard on 'Music Choice', was even better. It was what made me take notice of her.
