The Lucksmiths are my favourite Aussie band and I'm going to see them here in Hobes tomorrow night - yay!
They have a new CD called 'Warmer Corners' which is available through Candle Records in Melbourne.
They are touring the US next month.
They've been compared to Belle and Sebastian, The Smiths and The Trashcan Sinatra's - just to give you an idea of their sound.
I've been fortunate enough to meet them on numerous occasions organising interviews for my radio show and they are the lovliest blokes you could meet.
Have a listen to them - they're bonza!!!!

Oz music (my experience of)......... I was a big Crowded House fan and still enjoy the Finn Brothers - I also have enjoyed The Waifs and a band called Dr Didg. The fact that you like Kate and Rufus lead me to think I should look out these minstrels known as the Lucksmiths !! Thanks Sad news about Paul (the drummer) from Crowded House btw

Might I suggest you go for one of the following CD's... 'Why That Doesn't Suprise Me' or 'Warmer Corners' WC is their latest release and whilst WTDSM has always been in my top 10 favourite CDs of ALL TIME - I think WC has now replaced it - it's brilliant. Like all great music it takes a few listens but it's a wonderul recording... www.candlerecords.com.au/www.thelucksmiths.com.au/default.cfm?screen=order

I'll look out for them Pauli.
Like lauRA, I loved Crowded House - little pieces of near perfect pop music.. And INXS of course, they were Aussies weren't they?
Oh and let's not forget that artistic giant Kylie, what a supreme artist -
retreats under a hail of rotting fruit..
