i've just read an article about a program that analyzes songs and decides if they are hits and that some companies use it already. the most irritating thing about it is that this program decides the song's success by comparing it to old hits and that says nothing innovative and fresh is going to be released if this program will become a standard here's a link to the article: www.guardian.co.uk/arts/features/story/0,11710,1391951,00.html

Why don't they just let the computer go ahead and write the songs. The article says that the best use of the software is for labels with an album with no hits on it by one of their clients. So if the key is to have at least one hit single then just do what country music stars do - rip-off a 3 chord hook and sing about getting jilted.
