It seems we have a duff smiley. It is the 4th one along on the smiley tool bar. It's not displaying on my PC and I assume other peoples. The address is as follows: instagriber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/sally/lol.gif I've tried to go to the source, but it appears that it's now a bad gateway.

Yes it's working on my machine again. As I said just a glitch. I had the problem of letters becoming emoticons - I recall D was usually the issue. It is down to the proximity of punctuation to letters. If you put a colon right before a capital D (no space), you will get a smiley. I will demonstrate . Try it yourself. Ditto P, and other combinations. Next time you're writing or editing a post, click on the smileys one by one, and see how the computer defines them as combinations. If you accidentally recreate such a combination in the body of your text, then you're going to get a smiley. In fact, once you know the combos it's an alternative way of putting them into your posts. I haven't had the problem since I started leaving a space after a piece of punctuation. I hope that this clarifies Xan.

Glad the problems sorted. I only ever have the emoticon problem when I try to put ? ! ? ! ? ! at the end of a sentence (but without spaces), but I do know the feeling
