When rainy nights are soft with tears And Autumn leaves are falling I hear his voice on tumbling waves And no one there to hold me At evening's fall he watched me walk His heart was mine But my love was young, and felt The world was not cruel, but kind Where Lagan's light fell on the hour I saw him far below me Just as the morning calmed the storm With no one there to hold him My loves have come, my loves have gone And nothing's left to warn me Save for a voice on the traveling wind And the glimpse of a face at morning
Well, there is a remastered Hounds of Love released in the year 2000 or 2001...there are 6 Bonus Tracks on the CD including My lagan Love. But of Course the Song is also on a CD in the This Woman's Work Box-Set.

I can get so sad reading these types of posts... "why?" will you ask.. I'll tell you why: Why has this re-mastered HOL never been brought to my attention? Why were there no advertizing campaigns in the Netherlands? Was it ever on sale here? This is one of those many times I wished I lived somewhere else....
"And we thought it was all over, but it wasn't. It hadn't started yet...."
I love this song. I get some real imagery from it. I see... a man's face made of wind... a woman in a medieval dress... leaves blowing in the wind... and I hear... soft ethereal voices...
Wow. I should join the druids and wander round Stonehenge, I'm such a hippy!
"My love for Linton is like the foliage in the woods. Time will change it, I'm well aware, as winter changes the trees. My love for Heathcliff resembles the eternal rocks beneath- a source of little visible delight, but necessary." Catherine Earnshaw, Wuthering Heights.
