I thought it might be interesting if we had a thread where people could share their strangest, most wonderful or maybe Kate-related dreams. I'll add some of mine later if there's any interest...

I thought it might be interesting if we had a thread where people could share their strangest, most wonderful or maybe Kate-related dreams. I'll add some of mine later if there's any interest... My strangest most wonderful moment was the epiphany of seeing Kate perform "Them Heavy People" on Saturday Night Live' She was so quirky, sexy and brilliantly fluid in her movements - and I got it right away.

Sorry Neo.. I was technically talking about the kind we have while physically asleep. And Al, it really must have been quite an epiphany- my exposure to Kate has been much more gradual, so I never really got that 'a-ha!' moment of getting it right away. Although again and again I'll listen to a song and all of a sudden be struck by it's brilliance- it never really goes away with her music, does it?

Well, I don't really see a reason you shouldn't share it, then...

This is a dangerous thread for me isn't it Al? There is little doubt in my mind that this forum is more 'out there' than most other fan forums. Unbridled imagination, creativity and fearless quirkiness seem to draw birds of a feather here. And this is good. That said, I still feel compelled to moderate the tone sometimes... I wish to avoid: * Revelations about personal or imagined encounters with Kate Bush that could be creepy or uncomfortable. * Interpretations or perspectives that are presented as fact or as singular meanings. So much of art is about how it touches us each in a different way. * Answering questions before they are asked... Most members here are knowledgeable about trivia. I would prefer questions or quizzes over authoritarian statements or interpretations. Well placed "IMO" or "I think" being interjected makes for a more inclusive forum and it also encourages more democratic discussion. It is not my intent to discourage - only to be inclusive. I would prefer to attract more members without creating too much of a fringe mentality.

^ I agree. This place does have a wonderful ability to 'leave it open', which I think is one of the things that made me stick around. And the boundaries you set down are very reasonable and fair.

Ok, with the stated restrictions in mind (I agree with btw) here goes: "One night I was dreaming, I entered a church and inside was Kate sitting at the front pew. As I walked down the centre aisle she turned and gave me the most amazing smile. I approached her and got down on one knee, took her hand and kissed it. The power of the love I felt was exquisite." I had this dream about ten years ago and can still feel the love that flowed through me that night. Of course it was "just a dream..."

That sounds like a beautiful and powerful dream, Neo. I'm glad you shared it.

What your dream didn't show you Doug, was me on the upper church balcony banging on the glass, shouting "N-O-O! " in the proscribed Graduate/Mrs Robinson manner for disrupting weddings..

Haha, Adey! And Doug, what you wrote is quite beautiful... the figure that Kate creates in her music seems to affect people so deeply, which is a wonderful thing. I've often found that when I feel in need of comfort and deeper understanding, Kate's music is the most immediate and true way to give me a feeling of inspiration and solace. Though I think I'll leave the dreaming about the wedding (and the honeymoon) to you guys...
