OK, sorry for the double-post but it has been a while.
Having one wicked thunderstorm ATM, and it's got me re-thinking the brilliant idea I had of making the clothes poles out of copper tubing. Not one of my smarter creations, as I can't imagine a better lightning rod.

..and perhaps sitting with your hands on a keyboard attached to a computer, thats attached to a telephone line, whilst the heavens discharge millions of volts is not too smart either.. What is that smell? Could be blackened and crispy fried Gelid/Grimm for all I know..

The storm was still way off in the distance; I was watching out my back window. I shut down before it got too close.
The pooter gets unplugged during thunderstorms. My in-laws house got hit by lightening years back, and they lost most all the electrical appliances on that side of the house.
Only four days away from the first-year anniversary of the worst winter storm we've had here in 29 years! And the weather today is just as unseasonally hot as it was last year!

In preparation of a farming attempt that is going to take place in the spring I decided to grow some "pet greens" which is, basically, lawn grass in a little container. It's been 2 days, and just now I noticed the little shoots sprouting up through the soil, as if by magic.

We sucessfully grew about 8 stalks of corn, in a single row on the sunny side of the shed this year as our little experiment. The best advise I can give right now is to use really good dirt. Don't cheap out on it. Either buy "garden" type dirt or condition it yourself. We had three cubic yards of a compost garden mix delivered. That, and water every day.

Well, today I submitted my bump slip to my foreman. A newhire on the day-shift just completed his training, which allows me to "bump" him off of the day-shift and on to my current shift (2nd).
