What do you Brits think of the letter Princess Diana left with her butler about her fears of a plot to kill her?

I've always thought Diana was "Bumped off" but I think it was special agents that have done it not who the papers have named today. I think she was planning on marrying Dodi and I just think you couldn't have the future kings mother marrying a Muslim and having a Muslim Step father and worst still (In their eyes not mine btw) them having children. MI6 or whoever, I truly think made that never happen. Hopefully now something will done and we'll get to the bottom of it.

Your points are well considered PB. She had it coming and going I suppose. With the power, wealth and influence involved, we may never know what really transpired. .

I love conspiracy theories, but I don't buy this one.
Di was killed because she got into a car with a drunk behind the wheel. Let it be a lesson for us all.

Just curious.... did this whole Prince Charles thing (both this and the sexual issue) just die out here, and is still a hot topic in the UK, or is it just done? What was the outcome, I seem to have missed it?

Just curious.... did this whole Prince Charles thing (both this and the sexual issue) just die out here, and is still a hot topic in the UK, or is it just done? What was the outcome, I seem to have missed it? For the moment it's dead here in the UK. Now that an inquest has finally been agreed the heat has gone out of it for a bit. Actually, I think there are signs of a backlash of sorts going on. The newspapers just aren't selling the extra copies such a story would have once guaranteed. Finally, the british public seem to have had their fill. Paul Burrell's egocentric ramblings disgusted a lot of people, especially after Harry & Wills made their feelings known. The so called "Princess's Rock" floundered on it. As to Charles's "did he or didn't he" with his manservant, that quickly died too, once the guessing game was over. You'll know I assume, that our press were allowed to report that there were allegations and that Charles's office took the unusual and ill advised step of officially denying them. But that they weren't allowed to tell us what the allegations were. It only needed 30secs on the internet. Most of this rubbish just isn't news anymore and is certainly hardly seen as important. We've known for years that our royal family are at best, disfunctional, and at the worst, completely barking mad. As for Di, well even the most ardent of her supporters now generally acknowledge that she was mentally ill and extremely manipulative. That's why I never felt there was a conspiracy in her death. You couldn't do any more damage to our royal institutions anyway. Murdering her would have gained nobody anything, even if she was pregnant, and even if she converted her faith. Rereading this a day later, I should add that I am actually a monarchist. QE2 has been an inspiration, just her family let her down. Just my opinion..
