This week's playlist comes largely from "The Dreaming" (in case you're unaware, my favorite of Kate's work). The theme will be unrevealed. Your thoughts on a common thread are welcome. Otherwise, just enjoy the music.
1) 'All the Love' from "The Dreaming" 2) 'Houdini' from "the Dreaming" 3) 'Wuthering Heights' from "The Kick Inside" 4) 'Lily' from "The Red Shoes" (Lori, it'll grow on you) 5) 'Suspended in Gaffa" from "The Dreaming"

Yeah, cheesy is just one step above corny, I'm afraid; yet I fluctuate from the mundanely circumspect pontification, to the inanely senseless drivel, and so on. (Why is that?)

Ok, so here's the only connection I could find...maybe I was just desperate to find one, hehe. I don't even know for sure the correct meanings of all the songs, but this is just the way in which I see them here goes... All songs are sort of religious maybe and kind of cover things that we come across in a lifetime. I'm not very religious though so maybe I've got it all wrong 1) 'All the Love' from "The Dreaming" The person has died put their soul is still drifting and taking note of what's happening. 2) 'Houdini' from "the Dreaming" Simply about risk. 3) 'Wuthering Heights' from "The Kick Inside" Life after death. 4) 'Lily' from "The Red Shoes" (Lori, it'll grow on you) Defending yourself and being protected my god. 5) 'Suspended in Gaffa" from "The Dreaming" Working hard to try to be worthy of a glimpse of god (checkout my 'songmenaings' section of the ethereal world if you've never read Kate's interpretation)

Lori,
There are elements of spirituality and the afterlife in some form in all of the selections. Your observations bear that out, (except maybe 'Houdini'). There is no single right answer though; only how the songs speak to you.
Any other opinions? 'Cos mine aren't always correct!

Here I am, marking time yet again! Spirituality is in some form in all of Kate`s work. The way her mind works she likes to understand the processes behind the process of existence, and then get behind that. Always searching, yet always knowing where the truth/lies, within..........without! 1) All the Love...........................Let go 2) Houdini.................................Unlock 3) Wuthering Heights................Let in 4) Lily........................................Keep out 5) Suspended in Gaffa..............Where are we? The great conundrum of Love/life. 1) Only when you let go can you have it, 2) then you can escape. 3) Once you`ve let it in, 4) how do you keep it out? 5) Where does that leave you? Kate certainly knows Love!!

MT, I appreciate your response. Do you perchance have a Kate Bush shrine set up. 'Cos you're obviously devoted.

MT,
You have a very generous spirit. Thanks for sharing your personal thoughts. And you are correct; there are many of us who love the haunting enigma that is Kate Bush.
