What did an EMI official discover when visiting Kate to see what she had been working on? What evidence did she show him?

It was reported that Kate had asked if EMI would be interested in seeing what she had been working on. They immediately dispatched a representative to her estate in anticipation. Kate proceeded to show them....Mince pies from her oven! This has been much debated as to if it really occured, but I think it's brilliant. ;D

That's so funny! I thought my grandma (whom I lost last year) was the only one who made mince pies! What's IN those things anyway?
I was thinking this thread might have been in reference to the time EMI came in when she was recording "Breathing" and all they heard was "out, in, out, in, out, in, out in" and naturally assumed the song was about something else. ;D

I've read that account as well Sheila. The guy heard it through the studio door apparently, and burst in to tick everyone off. Muppet.
The funny thing is, KB has produced much more overtly s*xual lyrics than that!
Love the mince pie story, I so hope its true.

Being a vegetarian there would be no meat tho'. Sheila, this event supposedly happened much later than that.

A date was never specified--it could've been any time. Actually I do sort of know what mince meat is. I was aware it wasn't actually meat. But like fruit cakes, I never really met anyone who actually likes them except for my father (I get my weirdness from him )

It appears in the current "Q" magazine as one of the top 100 insane moments in rock. It happened (reportedly) recently. The reason no one likes fruitcakes or mince-meat, is because after the nuclear holocaust the cock-roaches will need something to eat. Everything else will perish.

Actually I do sort of know what mince meat is. I was aware it wasn't actually meat. But like fruit cakes, I never really met anyone who actually likes them except for my father (I get my weirdness from him ) I love them Sheila, and also another coincidence with Kate apparently. I make a batch of pies from SCRATCH from an Old English Cookbook, suet, currants, and all. Did I ever mention I like to cook? Didn't think so... I make so many things, but old English baking is fave. Just started making creme brulee lately, too. I suppose it's another creative expression for me. So, if anyone wants a great recipe, including Kate if your interested... Thanks Al for sharing this, I love it and it made my day! ;D
