"When it's perfect" is probably the 'correct' answer (is anything ever perfect?) but it's a little boring, so I went with Spring 04. Please, Kate?

I'm afraid 'when it's perfect' (To Kate), has been the hold up. That would be the easy answer. I chose September 10th 2003 because I think the project is completed and EMI will want to release it on their previously announced date.

Don't you think it's getting a little too close to Septmeber now though...? Three months, I s'pose it's possible!

I said 'When It's Perfect' but I think we're still in for quite a long wait. I can't see it being September and still having no word

I chose "when it's perfect" because I think that if EMI had anything to do with the release (or ever had much to say about Kate to begin with) they would have released something a long time ago! But, my choice, not on the poll is... to quote Kate (I think) How long until the new album is released? "How long is a piece of string?" I have been using this coy response at work, and I think it gets the same point across!

I agree that Kate would be the one to 'pull the string' However. I believe the project is finished and they,ve agreed on a date. EMI knows her well enough not to have announced a date without her approval.

I think you are right about it being finished Al, we are just awaiting announcement of the date and I think spring 2004.

You know, as much as I'd like to see a new Kate Bush album released, there is a part of me that is concerned. Not about the quality of the album itself... of course not, but that it might be the last we will ever hear. After The Red Shoes, no one thought it might take this long for a new album. Now, we are aware that she can wait this long for new material, and may just retire completely! I felt the same way about a new Peter Gabriel album. Since 1992, there had been talk about a new album, even the title "Up" for the last several years. Now that it's here, I want another! At his concert, a fan shouted at a pause "Don't leave us again!" and he promised he wouldn't, but I don't know how much of that I believe. Well, not to be pessimistic here, but does anyone understand what I am saying? I think it might mean the end of something, not a beginning!?

I know what you're saying, as painful as it may be But I read somewhere that when little Bertie goes to school, she's gonna have a lot of free time suddenly on her hands. Will she record a new new album? I do think, though, that she's taking so long partly because, if this is her last record, she wants to go out with a BANG. But, hey, 8 CDs is quite an achievement for anyone!

She can't bring a CD out now and then go out with a bang. It's been so long and WHEN this new album comes out she's gonna be introduced to a whole new generation of people aswell as her old faithful fans (and I don't literally mean old). How unfair would it be on the new fans. And - erm... I've never experienced her being in the limelight yet.

Anything at this point will probably be considered "a comeback" and you know how those go. It's rare that they are received well, let's hope the critics are kind! It usually goes one way or the other with them, heap on the awards or cut them to shreds.

It is much more noble to create than destroy. Critics are often idiot's. How could they even dare to understand someone else's vision. The marketplace will make it's decisions in spite of them.

I must admit I'm not concerned on the quality at all. Just if it IS actually gonna happen. We're not hearing anything at all on it
