Last year - you can download the video here: www.shoesmith.net/It's interesting to hear what her voice sounded like last year. Kind of a mix between "The Red Shoes" and "Hounds Of Love" eras, I think!

I was wondering 'Sto if this is an indication of what energy level she might put into the new work. Is it going to be contemplative and pensive? I hope not. This probably won't approach the enthusiasm on what's been at least four years in the making? (the new album that is)

No, I think she was just quite nervous about performing live after so long. I know I would be! It's a good performance though, I'm sure it would be even better with a better quality clip, and amazing if we'd been there in the flesh.

It's a good performance though, I'm sure it would be even better with a better quality clip, and amazing if we'd been there in the flesh. I know this song very well indeed - having performed it and sung it many times in my live music days. (Audiences love it because of the extended guitar solo and always used to call for it). I don't actually think it's a very good song, but never mind. I certainly don't think it was a good choice for KB to sing, but again never mind. The point is that on that one particular day, Kate threw off the cloak of invisibility and performed on a stage once again. The quality of the clip IS terrible and not a good record of so noteworthy an occasion, but the spontaneity it implies is both very welcome and entirely unexpected. A very interesting artifact indeed..

Sorry you're having trouble - it worked for me about a month ago. Try finding it on a search ie via another link. Be warned, the quality is terrible, both audio and video. Kate is just about visible - single camera presentation. If you can get it to link, it will take an age to download on a dial up -line. Good Luck!

LOL. Yes it was a bit negative wasn't it!
As I said earlier here, cherish it for proof that Kate hasn't entirely abandoned the idea of a live appearance.
Hate it for the quality - and did I mention that you can hardly hear her?
All together now -
"There is no pain you are receeding, a distant ship -smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves, your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying.." rather describes the video clip of Comfortably Numb!

Funny thing is that the audience sings with Gilmour but keeps quite during Mrs. Bush's part... is that reverence (roaring applause when she is announced) or just an attempt to hear her sing (as she has not a lot of volume on the speakers).
