Oh, my. I'm trying to restrain myself, I really am. You must understand that your telling me you don't know Dog & Butterfly is like hearing someone whose musical tastes you respect say they've never heard of Kate. You feel a responsibility at oncel, to rectify the situation, right? First of all, precious lady, tell me whether you are acquainted with the female rock legends Nancy and Ann Wilson and their legendary band, Heart at all, or whether you simply haven't heard that particular album, and we'll go from there. I haven't heard of either... *don't hit me, don't hit me, don't hit me*

It's not your fault. It's Britney Spears fault. Because of her ilk, people are growing up not knowing that women can actually rock. Ann and Nancy Wilson are sisters, who made some extremely beautiful rock and roll in the 70's. Their style was similar to Led Zeppelin, in that it had that magickal edge, but was more feminine of course. Nancy is a guitar goddess, and Ann Wilson is the greatest rock and roll singer who ever lived. I suggest Dreamboat Annie as a good album to start with. Little Queen is another classic, and of course Dog and Butterfly. Bebe Le Strange is the sexiest rock album ever to be released. They released several albums in the 80's as well, with some finely crafted pop rock songs, but in my opinion, not nearly as innovative and gut-wrenchingly beautiful as their earlier efforts. This web site: www.annandnancy.com will tell you what the goddesses are up to now. There now. My job is done. It's up to you to follow the trail if you like.

Hey Anna, I saw the similarity and am a big Heart fan. Have you seen them recently? I actually saw them on Kate's last birthday, July 30th. I have a poster signed from the show looking at me now! My favorite album is Little Queen and song is hard... probably Sylvan Song/Dream of the Archer. I have seen them a few times. Do you have Nancy's solo album "Live at McCabe's"? It's absolutely wonderful! It really shows how talented she is.

Oh I'm so jealous. I have never seen Heart in concert. And you are right, Live at McCabes is an amazing piece of work. Nancy makes it all sound sooo easy. I hope someday I can play just a tenth as well. I have participated in a live chat with Ann recently, but I came in late and none of my comments made the cut. That's OK though, we were chatting about bariatric surgery which is not really what I would want to talk to Ann about in a perfect world. And I've decided against the surgery, but I'm awfully happy for her and her decision to tackle that demon head on. How wonderful to meet someone else who adores two out of my three female musical icons! Would it be pushing my luck to ask how you feel about Bjork?

Oh I'm so jealous. I have never seen Heart in concert. And you are right, Live at McCabes is an amazing piece of work. Nancy makes it all sound sooo easy. I hope someday I can play just a tenth as well. I had to hunt that CD down the day it came out. I loved it from first play. It's still a regular in my rotation. I have actually convinced non-Heart fans of its quality, and made some new Heart fans. Even male guitar players who like folk music! You should really try to catch a live show. I have seen them twice, but the best was at The House of Blues where I waited to get to the stage. The show was just them, accoustic, as they talked with the audience in front. Really wonderful. In July, it was the last tour and plugged in, and they were really wonderful. Ann sounded great. They performed "under the stars" out in the middle of the mountains on a beautiful summer night! I agree, not exactly what I'd want to discuss either. But I think it was a great decision for her, and she looks great. I hope she feels as good. I also think that her relationship with her fans is wonderful, more involved and giving than most and she has her share of obsessed fans herself to fear, right? How wonderful to meet someone else who adores two out of my three female musical icons! Would it be pushing my luck to ask how you feel about Bjork? Very exciting! Many of us have discovered the same things! Sheila and I even believe we were at the very same Stevie Nicks concert in 1998! I also like Bjork, but I am just now on the road to discovery. That came after I saw Dancer in The Dark (I'm a big Catherine Deneuve fan) and was so impressed. Personally, I really like her version of "You Only Live Twice." Have you heard it?
