Well, the battle between "Moving" and "Breathing" is over. Poeple have voted, debated, switched sides, cried (yes, that's you Adey! ) - but finally: Moments of Pleasure and Moving are leaving the building this week. So! Simply choose your 2 least favourite songs from the list of preliminary winners below. State why you chose them to vote off, or if you find that too hard, say why you like the song... Your choices are: [glow=magenta,2,300]Breathing Night Of The Swallow Running Up That Hill Hello Earth The Sensual World [/glow] You have until Monday 7th March to vote. It's getting pretty close now! I look forward to hearing your views

It's getting too hard . i'm voting off [glow=blue,1,200]running up that hill[/glow] [glow=blue,1,200]the sensual world[/glow] in the case of the sensual world, i think it should go before because i think it's weaker in compare even to some tracks on TSW and it doesn't deserves the honor of the best song on sensual. RUTH is a wonderful, great song that deserves to be in the list but i think the live version and even the 12'' mix version are far superior then the album version, which i find slightly dated

[glow=magenta,2,300] Breathing Running Up That Hill [/glow] 'No need to belabor why I voted for Breathing again. 'Same as the previous two weeks. However, my reasons, as I assume many of your's, have less to do with the music and more due to personal experience. For example, The Sensual World may have made my list from a purely subjective basis. But in that it was the theme song of a rather torrid affair, it will always have higher esteem in my book. I'm instead voting foir RUTH because of it's 'hit' status in dance clubs. 'Not a good enough reason tho', 'cos I love it anyway. See how deep the bullet lies.

Well there go my personal no 3 & no 4 tunes.. Especially sad to see the back of Moving, which made such a huge impression on me when I first heard it, and persuaded me that Kate was going to be an important artist. Even more so than WH, which was great pop, though some may disgree. It's also an early example of Kate's notable ability to articulate abstract concepts. MOP is just sublime, a beautiful and emotionally involving piece of music.. and which now lies bleeding with a knife in it's back.. Yet again I'm voting off The Sensual World and BreathingI can't claim new insights - same reasons as before..

I actually can't do this as one of the songs I don't know - what an admission!! From the rest any could be a winner - sorry I have to bow out. RA

I actually can't do this as one of the songs I don't know - what an admission!! From the rest any could be a winner - sorry I have to bow out. Which one? That's a lame excuse! Right, well it gets so tough here...I feel very bad but I'll have to vote off [glow=magenta,2,300]The Sensual World[/glow] despite it being a wonderful song, with an even more wonderful video. It's certainly my favourite of Kate's videos - it's amazingle beautiful and she looks fantastic. And I'm now about to cause a riot but my other choice is [glow=magenta,2,300]Hello Earth[/glow] (sorry again Adey!) simply because it wasn't as immediate for me as the others on the list, and although I love it to bits now, it took a bit of time for me to warm to it. "Murder, murder of calm" and "All you fisherman head for homes" are extraordinary musical moments, full of passion and excitement, but also a sombre woefulness. I feel like a traitor voting this off

And I'm now about to cause a riot but my other choice is [glow=magenta,2,300]Hello Earth[/glow] Picks up 'phone, dials number.. "Hello? Is that the New Brighton Home for the Terminally Bewildered? Ah yes, good.
Listen we've got a new patient for you.. yes his name's Rob, but we call him Sto.. Yes, quite mad I'm afraid.. Dangerous? Yes, almost certainly I'd say.. No, it can't wait, totally off his rocker.. Yes, the wheels going round but the hamster's left the cage.. A terminal case, such a young man, very sad..
Recommend no contact with the outside world for 6 months, full thickness rubber walls and maximum restraints..
Good, quick as you can then.. Yes, he'll let you in, I'll tell him you're Kate Bush's Chauffeur taking him to tea.. "Hey Sto!
Guess what? You're going to tea with Kate Bush! Yes really! When her driver comes for you, let him in there's a good chap..

Yes, the wheels going round but the hamster's left the cage.. Hysterical! ;D Gave me a great laugh first off this morning, and that's always a good thing. I'll second that motion, Adey. He is certifiably insane. Are you nuts Sto!? This is were our unity ends! Sensual World & Breathing Sensual World because as amazing as it is, it is not solely based on her own material. It is inspired, but I think one of the others better stands as consumate work. Breathing, basically since I think it is a great bridge from her early material to The Dreaming. It signals a turn, with emotion. But, I think she perfects this style later. And... to those of you who have voted so early for RUTH... a hex upon all your houses. "Oh, for a tongue to curse the slave, whose treason, like a deadly blight, comes over the councils of the brave, and blasts them in their hour of might!"

I regret that the New Brighton Home for the Terminally Bewildered has no vacancies. Find your own nut house! Sto, you won't need your coat. Special vests are provided..
