Is anyone else going to find this as hard as I am? You know the drill: vote off your two least favourite tracks from the list below, giving reasons as to why you like/do not like the track. Your choices: And Dream Of Sheep Under Ice Waking The Witch Watching You Without Me Jig Of Life Hello Earth The Morning Fog Voting closes on Wednesday 18th February 2004 - time starts now...

Here we go again (this is cruel this is)
I'm voting off " Jig of Life " - no special reason, I actually love it. BUT there are 4 other tracks I love even more.
Voting off " The Morning Fog " for the same reason above. Plus although I love the classical guitar, and John Williams (for God's Sake!!) is playing it, I don't like the guitar here, its too efficient and metronomic. It almost contradicts the emotion of the survivor and her realisations. It needed something a bit softer and slightly more irregular to get some feel into it

And Dream of Sheep. I find this song the most confusing of all of them. I don't want to believe the whole thing is a dream, but my other interpretation is more disturbing.
The Morning Fog. This is way too hard, as all the songs need each other. I have nothing against this song, it's just too many reasons for NOT voting off the rest.

Sheila, I love the way dream and relaity get so mixed up in "The Ninth Wave". Even the thought of that uncertainty in itself is disturbing, which makes it so mindblowing. The Morning FogThe song to wrap it all off, but I think it's a bit of a disappointment. It just doesn't have the same innovative feel of the rest of the concept album. And it reminds me of "Burning Bridge". Which isn't a good thing. I don't think I can do another song... Watching You Without MeThis is incredibly hard to vote off. Possibly the most disturbing of all. The backward and muffled vocals which represent her partner being unable to see her are ingenius. I can't fault the song; it's haunting, mysterious and thought-provoking.

I'm voting to oust: " Dream of Sheep" Even tho' this is the preamble to the whole concept; It just cures my insomnia. and "The Morning Fog" Only because the rest of the songs are in a dead heat for my remaining favorite.

Sorry folks, can't play on this one! For me, the whole side is one track, a concept flowing one into the other. To vote one off is to vote them all off. Oh, how it hurts, watching you without me!

I'm going to vote off Waking The Witch and Jig Of Life, and to tell the truth, that was an easy decision Waking the Witch creeps me out and Jog of Life goes on for too long.

Sorry folks, can't play on this one! For me, the whole side is one track, a concept flowing one into the other. To vote one off is to vote them all off. I'll second that. I think the strength lies in them arranged together... separately they don't convey the same emotion. Besides, looks like one of my favorite songs is about to go already.

I hope my somnabulistic pun wasn't offensive. Even if you take this as one continuing song or story, doesn't it have 'parts' that you prefer. What better time and place to defend your favorites, and laud their merits.

Zan and NEO, I understand! I always knew this would be the hardest round of them all, mainly because you can't have one without the rest. However, I also agree with Al' that it's a great way of defending your favouirtes and voicing your opinions about the songs seperately; after all, I doubt Kate wrote them all in order in one sitting as one piece (although I may of course be wrong). So thanks everyone for contributing!

Zan and NEO, I understand! I always knew this would be the hardest round of them all, mainly because you can't have one without the rest. Alright, I said my piece... so Kate forgive them... they know not what they do... Waking The Witch: Seems like a song missing from TD, and is a little aggressive for this side of the album, breaks the flow for me a bit. The Morning Fog: The opposite problem and I understand why. Too uplifting here, considering the epic before. But still a wonderful song. The key songs, in my mind are ADOS, JOL, and HE (for obvious reasons, and contains my favorite lyric). Actually, now that I think about it, these may makeup 30% of my top 10 . I'll have to work on that.
