Somewhere in Between describes "Edge of Dreams" perfectly.
Has Kate tuned in to me?
Or have I tuned in to Kate?
Is it just pure co-incidence or is there a true harmony to the spirit that draws us into such beautiful creations?
It is such a mysteriously wonderful song.

My vote is for Nocturne. So far, it contains the most thrilling moment for me of both albums....
"Look at the light, all the time it’s a changing Look at the light, climbing up the aerial Bright, white coming alive jumping off of the aerial All the time it’s a changing, like now... All the time it’s a changing, like then again... All the time it’s a changing And all the dreamers are waking..."
I seem to feel this is the theme of the album... and it sort of hit me like certain aspects of The Red Shoes.

I voted for Somewhere in Between but I'm not sure why. The synth sounds a bit like RUTH to me, anyone else hear that? I think it's the catchiest one I guess. I'm sure my opinion will change as they have over time with all of her albums. A couple songs I used to hate as a teen are now among my faves. This disc is still soaking in for me. Aerial Tal makes me laugh! Kate's so cute and weird!

I voted for Sunset, but in truth, my vote could have gone to any of them.
My admiration for Aerial grows still stronger by degrees, if that's even possible. It provokes a persistent emotional response in me, more so than any of her other work has ever done before. Kate is the only artist to have this effect on me.
Perhaps part of it, is my joy at seeing her return to us - obviously healthy, happy and with all of her magical powers intact.

"Sunset" gets my vote as well. I have absolutely worn it out. I know Kate wants the listener to hear the whole suite together. But while driving between appointments I confess to skipping the narrative portions. I really crank up the Volume on the climax to ''Sunset" "SIB" is, for now running a close second.

I really like what you have said here Adey, Kate tugs on my heart every time. It is so good to see her producing what I believe is her best work yet. As an artist she creates what she feels, not what she might think the market wants. This is what all artist want to do but commercial pressures compromise this. Thankfully she has always been strong enough drive her own cause. Exquisite work Kate

Thanks Doug.
It seems to me, that Kate's work is never less than honest. In response I believe we should be also.
Of course she's had to work hard to do it, but she's in an place right now that most commercial artists can only envy..

Okay I am the one who voted for "Prelude". I know it's not even really a song but more of a, duh, prelude. But it moves me in the way "A Coral Room" moves Kate. Memories of people now gone. That sounds like me as a child saying things I probably really might have said, and now the webs have grown over it and it makes me cry. Do you know what I mean?

I have a dilemma too impossible to solve, so I shan't be voting. It is as follows: Sunset, Somewhere In Between and Nocturn are equally as good and equally my favorites. I have to listen to them in succession, and count them all as one big things with blurred lines showing the difference, not in anyway as separate entities.

Nocturn is just so beautiful and to me, it's very visual; I can really see it in my head when it plays. To me, this song is the most...life affirming from both discs because I think it's beautiful, hypnotic and exhilarating, just like all of the best Kate songs...
